Back pain and sciatica can be different things with different causes.
Sciatica follows the sciatic nerve, the largest nerve in your body. It starts in your lower back, runs through the buttock, down the leg, and into the foot, often showing up as a shooting, burning, or electric sensation, sometimes with numbness or tingling.
Back pain, on the other hand, stays localized to your upper, middle, or lower back. It can hit suddenly from an injury, or build slowly over months and years.
Sharp, dull, or just stiff.
Both are very treatable with the right approach, but that approach has to account for what’s really going on.
Herniated discs, degenerative disc disease, muscle imbalances in the hips or core, poor posture, an old injury, or even bone spurs and spinal stenosis can all be behind it, usually more than one at a time.
That’s why we don’t treat it as one thing.
Our Nurse Practitioner, Physical Therapy team, and Massage Therapists look at the structural, muscular, and medical pieces together, so nothing gets missed.
If back pain or sciatica has been part of your life for too long,
