The Minnesota Star Tribune recently featured the Institute for Integrative Therapies and our role in clinical research involving investigational psychedelic medicines.

The article highlights IIT’s participation in international studies examining potential treatments for depression and PTSD. It also reports that IIT is currently Minnesota’s only recruiting location among the major psychedelic drug trials reviewed by the Star Tribune.

“It’s not magic in and of itself,” IIT founder Dr. Manoj Doss explained. “It’s an opportunity for the brain to change.”

The White House just signed an Executive Order on psychedelic medicines— a major shift in mental health treatment policy.

This order directs federal agencies to accelerate the development and approval of psychedelic-based treatments for serious mental illness including PTSD, treatment-resistant depression, and severe anxiety.

Key actions directed:
🔬 Prioritize psychedelic clinical trials
⚡ Fast-track FDA breakthrough therapies
📋 Review insurance coverage for approved treatments

The science is compelling: MDMA-assisted therapy for PTSD and psilocybin for treatment-resistant depression have shown remarkable results in peer-reviewed studies.

While the field evolves, IIT offers ketamine therapy as current evidence-based options.

IIT is also the only clinic in Minnesota that is an active psychedelic medicine clinical trial site. We are working with the leaders in this field to provide access as well.

The EMBRACE Clinical Research Study is now enrolling for a trial at the Institute for Integrative Therapies. The EMBRACE study is researching an investigational psychedelic substance, combined with psychological support into reduction in symptoms of Major Depressive Disorder (MDD).

IIT has been selected as a clinical-trial site for atai Beckley’s VLS-01-203 study—the first DMT study in Minnesota for people living with treatment-resistant depression.

VLS-01 is a novel buccal-film form of DMT, and represents a significant step forward in evidence-based psychedelic medicines for those suffering with TRD that haven't responded to the conventional treatments.

Being part of this landmark trial strengthens IIT’s role as a Midwest leader in psychedelic-medicine research—and, most important, gives Minnesotans early access to tomorrow’s breakthroughs.
