AUGUST IS NATIONAL GOLF MONTH — PROTECT YOUR BACK WHILE YOU PLAY
A bad golf swing doesn’t just affect your score—it can put unnecessary stress on your body, especially your lower back.
Poor posture, limited mobility, inadequate core stability, or improper swing mechanics can contribute to excessive strain during the rotation of your swing. For golfers already experiencing back discomfort, repeatedly swinging with poor mechanics may aggravate symptoms and potentially contribute to further injury if the underlying issue isn't addressed.
What should you know about a proper golf swing?
✔️ Maintain proper posture and spinal alignment
✔️ Develop adequate hip and thoracic mobility
✔️ Build core and lower-body strength
✔️ Practice controlled rotation rather than forcing the swing
✔️ Address pain early instead of playing through it
Pain is not something you should simply “swing through.”
If your back hurts during or after your round, it may be time to look beyond your swing and evaluate how your body is moving.
This National Golf Month, focus on more than improving your handicap. Improve your movement, protect your back, and stay on the course.
⛳ Move better. Swing smarter. Play longer.
