🍪 Happy National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day! 🍪

Today we celebrated National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day by baking delicious homemade chocolate chip cookies this morning. This afternoon, everyone enjoyed a cookie paired with a glass of milk or a cup of coffee while learning about the history of the beloved chocolate chip cookie.

We also spent time reminiscing about our favorite homemade treats, sharing baking memories, and talking about everyone’s favorite sweets. It was a fun-filled day of laughter, learning, and, of course, delicious cookies! ❤️🍪

Today's cooking demonstration was presented by ECH's Recreation Program Director, Destiny Ortman. ✨👩‍🍳💚

Today's featured recipe was a delicious Cubano Sandwich Dip! Residents and a few family members enjoyed watching the demonstration and sampling this tasty appetizer.

Afterward, everyone was asked, "How would you rate today's demonstration and recipe?" The response was unanimous—two thumbs up! 👍👍 They described it as "amazing" and thoroughly enjoyed every bite.

Today our Administrator is double proud! The heart is extra full. 💚

As an Administrator, I am always proud when one of our team members takes the next step in their career. But today, I was double proud because the newest CNA just graduating today and joining the Edgewood Convalescent Home family is also my daughter.

Watching her graduate and begin a profession centered on compassion, dignity, and service was an incredibly special moment. I know the kind of heart she has, and I have no doubt she will make a difference in the lives of those she cares for.

Congratulations, Giulia Kruger ! And welcome to the Edgewood family in your new role. I couldn't be prouder of the young woman—and now the CNA—you've become. 💚

What a perfect day for ice cream! 🍦 Yesterday, we enjoyed a scenic drive to Colesburg and made a stop at Four Scoops & More for some delicious frozen treats. Smiles, great company, and sweet treats made for a wonderful afternoon!

What an incredible day at Edgewood Convalescent Home! 🎄❄️

Thanks to our wonderful partners at St. Croix Hospice, we celebrated Christmas in July with an unforgettable party! The highlight of the day was the "snow," and watching our residents and staff laugh, smile, clap, and simply enjoy the moment was truly priceless.

Creating moments of joy like these is what it's all about, and we are so grateful to the amazing St. Croix Hospice team for making this special event possible.

Thank you, St. Croix Hospice and awesome team for bringing the magic of Christmas to July and filling our home with so much happiness! Thank you for education you have also provided! ❤️

🍽️ Chef Jacob was back this month for another delicious cooking demonstration! 👨‍🍳

This month's featured recipe was a flavorful Tuscan Orzo Pasta—a warm, comforting dish that's perfect as a side with chicken or fish, or hearty enough to enjoy all on its own. 😋

Our residents thoroughly enjoyed sampling this tasty recipe and even suggested adding it to the menu in the future! ❤️

🎄 Christmas in July at Lincolnwood! ☀️🎅

We celebrated Christmas in July with plenty of holiday cheer! Our tenants enjoyed warm hot cocoa, delicious frosted sugar cookies, chocolate chip cookies, and monster cookies while testing their holiday knowledge with Christmas Trivia and Name That Tune: Christmas Edition. 🎶🎄

Everyone had a wonderful time singing along, sharing laughs, and competing for the chance to win a gift bag! It was a fun filled afternoon full of great treats, friendly competition, and festive memories. ❤️🎁
