🔥 Heat index values are forecast to reach 100-109 degrees for portions of the area each afternoon today through Wednesday.

‼️ The greatest confidence in dangerous heat exists between the I-70 and I-44 corridors, where an Extreme Heat Warning is now in effect.

🥵 Uncertainty surrounds exactly how hot/humid it will be, but the worst conditions will exist in metropolitan areas where urban heat island effects are strongest.

🚑 Congratulations to Deanna McKenzie!

Knox County EMS Director Deanna McKenzie has earned her Missouri Ambulance Service Administrator certification after completing the state’s required 40-hour EMS Administrator Program.

The weeklong training included EMS leadership, administration, long-term planning and a capstone project outlining goals for the ambulance service over the next one, three and 10 years.

Congratulations, Deanna, on this achievement and continued leadership in emergency medical services!
