As part of the Edinburg Economic Development Corporation's Business Retention & Expansion (BRE) efforts, our team recently visited Driscoll Children's Hospital Rio Grande Valley to tour the facility, learn more about its operations, and discuss its continued presence in Edinburg.

Executive Director Raudel Garza, Assistant Executive Director Karina Lopez, and Business Development Manager Letty Pantoja met with Driscoll Children's Hospital Rio Grande Valley President Matt Wolthoff and Director of Major Gifts Yvette Padilla.

Since opening its Edinburg facility in 2024, Driscoll Children's Hospital RGV has grown to approximately 1,500 employees, making it one of the city's largest employers and an important part of Edinburg's growing economy.

Thank you to the Driscoll Children's Hospital Rio Grande Valley team for inviting us to tour the facility and for the opportunity to strengthen our partnership.

Today marked an exciting milestone for Edinburg as the Edinburg Economic Development Corporation, in partnership with the City of Edinburg-Government, celebrated the groundbreaking of the new Workforce Resource Center and Ebony Hills Golf Course Clubhouse! 🚧🎉

Representing a $7.2 million investment by Edinburg EDC, this dual-purpose project is teeing up new opportunities for our community by creating a centralized location that connects residents with career opportunities while providing workforce recruitment, job training, and employer support services for local businesses. ⛳

The project will also support the continued enhancement of Ebony Hills Golf Course with a new clubhouse featuring four golf simulators, an expanded cart barn, improved parking areas, and additional amenities designed to enhance the experience for golfers and visitors.

By bringing workforce resources and quality-of-life improvements together in one project, this investment reflects Edinburg EDC’s commitment to strengthening our local workforce, supporting existing employers, attracting new investment, and creating greater opportunities for Edinburg residents.

We are grateful to the Edinburg City Council, EEDC Board of Directors, Gerlach Builders, Raine Architects, our community partners, and everyone who has helped bring this vision to life.
We look forward to watching this investment take shape and become a lasting resource for the Edinburg community.

Jeffrey Salcedo, International Business Development Consultant, attended the MOU signing between COSTEP and CCIES in Reynosa, Mexico.

The agreement brings together 24 higher education institutions—13 in northern Tamaulipas and 11 in South Texas—to align academic programs, laboratories, certifications, and research with the evolving needs of industry.

This collaboration strengthens the connection between education and workforce development while supporting investment attraction and regional competitiveness across the Rio Grande Valley and northern Tamaulipas.
