Caleb Scoville MS, LPC, PLLC

Caleb Scoville MS, LPC, PLLC I work to improve people’s quality of life by strengthening their coping skills, ability to make healthy life choices and decreasing unhealthy behaviors.

As a counselor, I have worked with many individuals with diverse needs. I know I am only one of many choices in therapists. However, I am distinct in the type of emotional support I can provide. I am a 22-year survivor of a malignant brain tumor and a 10-year survivor of a benign brain tumor. To my knowledge, I am the only licensed professional counselor (LPC) and survivor providing mental health

services to the oncology population as well as the general public in the OKC/ Edmond area. According to an Institute of Medicine report “Cancer Care for the Whole Patient”, “Psychosocial care improves a cancer patients health related outcome.” As a LPC I will work with you and support you as you move forward with your life in a positive direction. No matter what your concern may be, I will work with you and encourage you to persevere through any obstacles by focusing on your strengths and helping your improve your relationships. I currently see clients at Transforming Life Counseling Center. for more information please visit TLCCOK.com

🔬 Science Confirms the Power of Prayer! 🙌

A new study from the University of Maryland School of Medicine shows that just 5 minutes of in-person prayer significantly reduces physical pain and emotional anxiety.

The most incredible part? A single 5-minute prayer kept anxiety significantly lower for 6 full weeks—regardless of the person's religious background.

God designed our minds and bodies to heal through His presence and holy connection. You do not have to carry your burdens alone.

Want to combine professional therapy with the healing power of faith? DM me to book a session today. 🤍

A randomized controlled trial conducted at the University of Maryland School of Medicine has found that a five-minute session of proximal intercessory prayer (PIP) — in-person prayer offered by a trained volunteer — significantly reduced pain and anxiety in primary care patients compared to a mu...

What does your summer activity for your children involve? Might I make a suggestion?

Your keyboard is making your brain lazy. 🧠
A Norwegian neuroscientist spent 20 years proving a brutal truth:
Writing by hand changes your brain in ways typing physically cannot. Yet, almost no one has read her 2024 study.
Dr. Audrey van der Meer hooked 36 students to 256 brain sensors. She tracked their brains while they wrote words by hand versus typing them.

The results? A complete neurological shift.

✍️ When writing by hand:
The brain lit up everywhere. Memory, sensory, and learning regions fired together in a massive, connected network. The whole brain was awake.

⌨️ When typing:
That network collapsed. Most of the brain went completely quiet.
Why? Micro-movements.

Handwriting forces your brain to coordinate thousands of tiny movements, shapes, and spatial problems. Typing throws that away. Every key feels exactly the same. Your brain has nothing to solve, so it coasts.
The Business Impact:

Princeton researchers backed this up. They found students taking laptop notes typed word-for-word but processed nothing. Handwriting forced students to summarize, digest, and actually understand the data.

Every typed meeting note, book highlight, or strategy idea goes through a thinner neural pipe. You aren't forgetting things because your memory is bad. You are forgetting them because typing never woke up your brain.

The Fix:
Put down the phone. Pick up a pen.
The slower road is the faster one.

As traditional handwriting is progressively being replaced by digital devices, it is essential to investigate the implications for the human brain. Brain ele...
