Different front door.

Same one-on-one approach. Same education-first philosophy. Same person answering far too many of his own emails.

The transition into 212 is underway! 😃

📦 ONE LAST LOOK..

Quite a few years in this space. And I gotta say.. it's a little surreal seeing it like this now that I've packed the whole thing up.

A lot went into building this place. Time, money, sleepless nights, and a ridiculous amount of work I had absolutely no idea I'd signed myself up for.

And apparently, "moving locations" is a pretty casual way of describing what happens when ya gotta pack up an entire medical practice, move all the equipment, furniture, supplies, and God knows what else.. in ONE day.

Which, by the way, is how I ended up with an entire medspa occupying my condo. Good times.

But seriously.. I've had some incredible experiences here. Met wonderful people, built relationships with patients I've come to know really well, and learned more than I ever imagined I would. Some lessons considerably more expensive than others. 😅

And as much as I loved having a space of my own, I realized I was spending way too much of my life trying to keep it all running.

So.. time for something different.

I'll miss this place. No question about it. But I'm looking forward to the next chapter, a little less responsibility, and hopefully a whole lot more time actually enjoying life outside of work.

Many years, a ton of memories, and more lessons than I can count.

Onward..

Packing up the office has made me realize just how much stuff I've managed to accumulate in one room over the years..

A little overwhelming, a little nostalgic, but looking forward to the next chapter.

🐈 COMING HOME TO CARL

I get home after bein away, and naturally I've got about a thousand things waitin for me. Emails, patient messages, charts, scheduling.. all the stuff that apparently doesn't take a vacation just cause I do.

So as I tackle hours of work while my life patiently waits..

Carl decides we've got other priorities.

Now, I can't exactly negotiate here. He's got my hand pinned down, he's comfortable, and quite frankly, he doesn't seem particularly concerned about my workload.

And ya know what.. maybe he's onto somethin.

I've spent so much time worryin about everything I need to get done that sometimes I forget to appreciate the little things right in front of me.

Like this guy.. who couldn't care less about my inbox.

Anyway.. I'd love to tell ya I got a lot accomplished that afternoon.

But Carl had other plans.

And to be honest with ya.. I was perfectly fine with that.

✈️ I love me some traveling.. it's just the traveling part I have issues with.. ;)

Give me a beautiful ocean, some sunshine, good company, and a comfy chair with a view.. I'm happy as can be.

Put me in an airport with a delayed flight, an unexpected gate change, and an itinerary that's become more of a suggestion than an actual plan?

Different Stef.

On my recent trips, first in many years, I managed to have countless flight cancellations and delays, rearrange travel plans more times than I'd care to admit, and of course end up assisting with a medical emergency at 35,000 feet.

Ya know.. typical vacation stuff.

Nonetheless I'll keep moving directions into making time for the experiences in life I want to have.

Even if American Airlines seems determined to make each one a little more memorable than necessary.

🌴 Looks pretty peaceful, doesn't it?

Beautiful sunset. Ocean. Palm trees. Not a care in the world.

Well.. at least that's what the picture would have ya believe.

What ya don't see are the flight delays, missed flights, last-minute changes, barely any sleep, and me somehow still findin ways to stress about work while I'm supposed to be on vacation.

Apparently, the ocean doesn't make your responsibilities disappear. Who knew.

Don't get me wrong.. I had an incredible time.. and that view was somethin' special..

But that's kinda my point. You can look at somebody's pictures and think they've got this wonderful, carefree life, without havin the slightest idea what's goin on outside the frame.

And I ain't sayin the good parts aren't real. They absolutely are.

But so is everything else.

Anyway.. despite all the chaos, I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

Just a lil' less setbacks next time...

🩺 BEFORE AESTHETICS.. THERE WAS NURSE STEFAN.

Long before I started injecting tox and fillers, I spent years educating people about health and medicine. TV segments, interviews, videos, presentations.. you name it. Usually with my hands doin about half the talkin.

And one thing I've always believed is that understanding your healthcare shouldn't require a medical degree.

I can throw medical terminology at ya all day. Doesn't mean I've actually taught ya anything.

October is Health Literacy Month, and it's a good reminder of somethin that's been a big part of my nursing career, regardless of the setting.

People deserve to understand what's happenin with their health, why we're recommendin certain treatments, what the alternatives are, and what they can realistically expect.

And that absolutely applies to aesthetics.

I don't want you agreeing to somethin just because I said it's a good idea, in fact, I won't let you. I want ya to understand WHY I think it makes sense for you.. and feel comfortable telling me when it doesn't.

Cause at the end of the day, let's face it.. it's your face.. or your body, and your decision.

My job is to bring the knowledge, clinical judgment, and technical skill. Your job is to ask questions. As many as ya want.

But be prepared.. I ain't exactly known for giving short answers. 😏

🎤 THIS PART CAME BEFORE AESTHETICS

October is Health Literacy month! 🤓👍

Last week I was invited to speak to a room of deans, directors, educators, and leaders from nursing organizations across Washington that help shape the future of healthcare.

Most people here know me through TORRES Aesthetics & Health, but another large part of my career has always centered on making health information easier to understand and helping improve health literacy through clear, accessible education.

For years, I’ve worked to take health information that can feel complicated, intimidating, or difficult to navigate and make it understandable, useful, and relevant to the people actually living with it. That work has led to opportunities with universities, academies, institutions, professional organizations, public education projects, and some recognition I never expected when I started.

I want to bring those same teaching principles into aesthetics: explain the why, make the options understandable, be transparent about what something can and cannot do, and help people make informed decisions rather than simply telling them what to choose.

Aesthetics is one chapter of my work. Helping people better understand their health has been a thread through almost all of it.

And apparently, I still talk with my hands.

IPL VS. A TAN: PICK A TEAM.

THEY'RE WORKING IN OPPOSITE DIRECTIONS.

The better starting point is not guessing from a treatment menu. It is getting clear on the concern, the timing, and what actually makes sense.

Expression lines are usually a movement story.

Raising, frowning, smiling, squinting, and how strongly those muscles move all matter when planning wrinkle relaxer treatment.

The goal is not to erase your personality. The goal is to understand the movement pattern and make a plan that fits.
