✨ Is Your Child Really Ready to Brush Alone? ✨🦷
We love seeing kids become independent… but when it comes to brushing, little hands still need a little help! 😊
Most children don’t have the coordination to properly brush every surface of their teeth until around age 7–8.
Here are a few tips for a healthy smile:
🦷 Toddlers: Let them practice holding the toothbrush — but parents should still do the cleaning!
👧 Preschoolers: Parents should brush their child’s teeth (think of it as your job, not theirs 😉
🪥 School-age kids: Supervise brushing until they have the skills to do a thorough job.
Remember the “2-minute smile routine”:
☀️ Brush after breakfast
🌙 Brush before bed
💧 Use fluoride toothpaste
✨ Replace toothbrushes every 3 months (or sooner if bristles look worn)
Toothpaste tip:
👶 Under age 3: use a tiny smear (rice-sized amount)
🧒 Ages 3–6: use no more than a pea-sized amount
And don’t forget flossing! Once teeth touch each other, brushing alone can’t clean every area. 🦷
A little help today builds healthy habits for a lifetime of smiles! 💙
