The Madison County Mental Health Board (MCMHB) is excited to announce that applications for FY27 Mental Health Aid to Agency and Opioid Remediation funding are now available!

We are currently inviting eligible organizations that provide services that support mental health, intellectual and/or developmental disabilities, and substance use prevention and recovery. The web-based application portal will be accessible to applicants at the QR code, our website, or through the link in the comments.

Big news for our first responders and death investigators in Madison County and across Illinois! 💙

Thanks to the leadership and advocacy of Madison County Coroner Nick Novacich and State Senator Erica Harriss, Senate Bill 2770 has officially been signed into law.

This legislation ensures that coroners, deputy coroners, medical examiners, autopsy assistants, and first responders have direct access to confidential mental health counseling and behavioral health support without out-of-pocket costs.

This legislation represents a significant step forward in recognizing the mental and emotional toll carried by coroners, deputy coroners, medical examiners, and autopsy assistants. In our profession, there are very few 'good days.' We are called to serve families on what is often the worst day of their lives, and our work is centered around tragedy, loss, and death. That burden accumulates over time, even for the most experienced professionals.

Providing confidential mental health services at no cost acknowledges the realities of this work and gives those who serve our communities a vital resource to care for themselves. Sharing this information on behalf of the Community Behavioral Healthcare Association for a chance to attend 2 virtual Listening Sessions for all interested behavioral health providers and stakeholders to gather input on the upcoming funding opportunities under the Rural Health Transformation Program from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).

These funding opportunities will be open to all Community Mental Health Centers (CMHCs), Behavioral Health Clinics (BHCs), Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics (CCBHCs), and Substance Use Treatment Centers that meet the eligibility requirements outlined in the Notices of Funding Opportunity (NOFOs). The NOFOs are anticipated to be released in early September.

Each 60-minute virtual listening session will focus on one of the two RHT Program funding opportunities – Community Care Infrastructure/Integrated Care and Mobile Health including Mobile Crisis Response. During the sessions, stakeholders will be invited to offer input that will be used to inform the funding opportunities.
