Marcia and I spent time enjoying the sunshine in the courtyard at Stillwater this morning. ☀️
We strolled hand in hand, shared lots of smiles, and simply enjoyed being together.

After that, we headed to the therapy gym where she rode the NuStep for 10 minutes. It always reminds her of the bike rides she used to enjoy on the trails around Edwardsville. We also spent time visiting and waving to people throughout the assisted living halls, and of course had some fun batting a balloon back and forth.

I’ve had the privilege of knowing and working with Marcia for over 6½ years, and moments like today remind me why I love what I do. My goal is always to help her have the best quality of life possible through meaningful engagement, activity, companionship, and connection.

She is one of the sweetest, most precious people I’ve ever known, and I feel incredibly blessed to be part of her journey. ✨❤️

After Marcia’s Audiology appointment this morning, we spent time surrounded by hundreds of blooming roses - seeing her smile, relax, and enjoy the fresh air made my whole day. These outings may seem simple, but they take patience, compassion, safety, and trust. I’m so thankful I get to help make moments like this possible for people I care so deeply about. ❤️

Grateful for mornings like this! ❤️

I spent the morning with my client Marcia, and we had some of her family come in to visit. I helped coordinate everything ahead of time so it would feel comfortable and easy for everyone - and it turned into such a special visit.

We started in her room, then I suggested we go sit on the back patio since the weather was so nice. We sat under an umbrella, felt the breeze, looked at the flowers that were just planted, and enjoyed being together.

There’s something really meaningful about moments like that. No pressure, no rush… just being present with one another.

This is truly at the heart of what I do - helping bring families together and creating visits that feel good, natural, and full of love. 🥰

I had the honor of returning to Lewis and Clark Community College for the third year in a row to speak with students in the L&C Occupational Therapy Assistant Program. Sharing my journey from where it all began, to the work I’m doing today, never gets old.

I’m incredibly grateful to Debbie Witsken for the continued invitation and support. It means so much to connect with these students as they prepare to step into such meaningful careers.

Mom was definitely on my heart today. Jan Lowry’s love for others and natural caregiving spirit continue to guide me in everything I do. I know she would be so proud. ♥️✨

Last week, my client and dear friend Shirley passed away. I had the privilege of working with Shirley for the past two years, and in that time, what began as a professional relationship grew into a truly special friendship.

Shirley had a gentle spirit and a quiet strength that left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her. It was an honor to walk alongside her and her family through both everyday moments and some of life’s most tender, difficult seasons.

One of the most meaningful moments for me was being able to take Shirley’s sister, Arla, to see her the day before she passed. Supporting families during moments like that - when time, clarity, and emotional support matter so deeply - is at the heart of why I do this work. I continued to support the family closely after Shirley’s passing, helping however I could during a time of grief and transition.

I am incredibly grateful for the trust Shirley and her family placed in me, and for the kindness and appreciation they’ve shown throughout this journey. Shirley will always hold a special place in my heart, and her memory will stay with me as a reminder of why compassionate, personalized support makes such a difference.

Rest peacefully, Shirley. You were deeply loved. ❤️
