🎉 Celebrating Emma’s 1-Year Anniversary at Metro Eye Care! 🎉

We’re a little late celebrating, but we couldn’t let this milestone pass without recognizing someone pretty special!

Emma joined our team one year ago as a Contact Lens Specialist, and she has become such a wonderful part of the Metro family! ❤️

Emma has a quiet confidence about her. She’s kind, genuine, hardworking, and almost always wearing a smile. She’s not one to use more words than necessary, but her warmth and sincerity speak volumes. She has a wonderful way of making people feel comfortable and cared for, and she’s someone her coworkers genuinely enjoy being around.

Jennifer, who works alongside Emma every day, describes her as an incredibly sweet, gentle, and trustworthy person with an “old soul.” She especially appreciates how sincerely Emma cares about her patients and the thoughtful way she interacts with everyone, including our youngest visitors.

Outside of Metro, Emma enjoys spending time with family and friends, crocheting, camping, and horseback riding. 🐴🧶🏕️

When we asked Emma what she loves most about working at Metro, her answer was simple: “Working with the best coworkers.” And when asked if there was anything else she’d like to share, she wrote, “I ❤️ Metro!”

Well, Emma, the feeling is mutual!

🎉 Today we’re celebrating 2 years with Liz! 💙

Liz is one of those people you quickly realize you’re really lucky to have on your team. She has an incredible attitude, shows up every day ready to work, and is always looking for what needs to be done rather than waiting to be asked.

She joined our team and fit in immediately. She’s thoughtful, compassionate, dependable, and genuinely cares about the people she works with and the patients she helps. She gets a tremendous amount done and has quietly become one of those steady people who helps keep Optical running day after day.

More than anything, Liz is someone we trust, appreciate, and hope is part of the Metro Eye Care family for a very long time.

Today we’re celebrating 6 years of Cy at Metro Eye Care!

Cy is smart, hardworking, thoughtful, and endlessly clever. He has a knack for looking at things a little differently, coming up with innovative ideas, and making all of us laugh along the way. His quick wit and sense of humor make just about every day at Metro more entertaining.

He’s also someone we can count on. Cy works hard, cares about doing things well, and brings a thoughtfulness to his work and the people around him that we truly appreciate.

Six years in, Metro simply wouldn’t be the same without his humor, creativity, intelligence, and unmistakable Cy-ness.

💕 Welcome to the Metro family, Adaline Lee! 💕

We are so excited to celebrate the arrival of this beautiful little girl!

Adaline Lee was born September 5th at 12:30 p.m., weighing 7 lbs. 11 oz. and measuring 19.5 inches long. 💗

This sweet announcement is extra special for our Metro family. Adaline’s mom, Carly, is one of our wonderful opticians, and her very proud grandma, Amy, is one of our wonderful opticians too! That means this little girl already has two generations of Metro love surrounding her. 🥰

Carly, we are so happy for you and your family, and Amy, congratulations on your beautiful new granddaughter!

Today we’re celebrating a pretty incredible milestone: 15 years of Charity at Metro Eye Care!

If you know Charity, you know she isn’t someone who wants a lot of attention. She’s quiet, calm, a little shy (and very easy to startle 😂), but for 15 years she has been one of the absolute rocks of Metro.

Charity is steady, dependable, diligent, and an outstanding technician. She is the person who simply shows up, day after day, year after year, and does her job exceptionally well. She almost never misses work, takes wonderful care of our patients, and is always someone we can count on.

She is officially our longest-tenured non-owner, narrowly beating out another team member who joined us just one month later! After 15 years, it’s hard to even picture Metro without her. She isn’t just someone who works here. She is a staple of Metro and a huge part of our family.

One of Charity’s favorite things about Metro is getting to meet new people and that our doctors and staff feel like family. She also gets the special bonus of working alongside her son, Shawn. Outside of Metro, she loves spending time with her family, scrapbooking, trivia games, and puzzles.

Charity, thank you for 15 years of loyalty, consistency, hard work, and friendship. We absolutely love you, we appreciate you more than you probably realize, and Metro simply wouldn’t be the same without you.

🎉 10 YEARS OF SHAWN! 🎉

Today we get to celebrate someone who has been a part of Metro Eye Care for an entire decade. Shawn officially hit 10 YEARS with us!

When we asked Shawn his favorite thing about working at Metro, his answer was simple: “The Metro family.” I think that says a lot about Shawn and about what 10 years together really means. At this point, Shawn isn’t just someone who works here. He is part of our family too.

And if there is one thing we can say about Shawn after 10 years, it’s that the guy shows up. 😄 In an entire decade, he has almost never missed a scheduled day of work. That kind of dependability and loyalty is pretty incredible, and we don’t take it for granted.

Outside of Metro, Shawn’s family is clearly where his heart is. He loves spending time with his fiancée and his two daughters and watching his girls cheer their hearts out. He also coaches youth football, where he gets the opportunity to help young kids grow into respectable young men.

If you know Shawn, this next part probably won’t surprise you. He says he has a goal every day to make at least one person laugh or smile. We can confirm that he has definitely accomplished that around here!

Ten years is a long time. We’ve watched each other grow, we’ve been through changes together, and we’ve shared a whole lot of life along the way.

Shawn, thank you for showing up for us for 10 years. Thank you for the laughs, the loyalty, and for making Metro Eye Care a little more fun just by being Shawn.

You said your favorite thing about working here is the Metro family. Well, we’re pretty darn glad you’re part of ours.

Today we’re celebrating Chloe and her first year with Metro Eye Care! Chloe joined our team on as an Optometric Technician last summer, and we’re so glad she did!

Chloe says her favorite part of working at Metro is “working with wonderful staff and doctors that share my passion for eyecare.” That passion is especially fitting because Chloe isn’t just helping care for our patients today. She’s currently in her third year of optometry school! 👓📚

When she’s not working or studying, Chloe loves going on walks with her dog and spending time with her friends and family.

Chloe, thank you for everything you bring to Metro and for taking such great care of our patients. We’re excited to watch you continue your journey toward becoming Dr. Chloe someday!

We’re celebrating Gretchen and her 2 year work anniversary with the Metro Eye Care team! 💙

As one of our optometric technicians, Gretchen loves getting to know our patients, building relationships with them, and most importantly, working alongside her coworkers. 😊

Outside of Metro, Gretchen is a proud mom of five kids, loves spending time with her children, family, and friends, hanging out with her dog Rio, and getting outside for a good hike when the weather cooperates. And a fun fact about Gretchen: she loves bird watching!

Gretchen, we’re so glad you’re part of our team. Thank you for everything you’ve brought to Metro over the past 2 years and for the care you give our patients every day.

We’re celebrating Amy’s 4-year anniversary at Metro Eye Care!

It’s hard to believe it’s already been four years since Amy joined our team. She came to Metro because she loves working with patients and helping people improve their vision, and she’s been doing exactly that ever since. She is a certified ABO optician.

Amy and her husband have called Illinois home since 2010 after moving from New Jersey. They’re raising three wonderful kids, and it’s been especially fun having her daughter, Carly, become part of the Metro family as well. We also have all loved celebrating with Amy as she is expecting her first grandbaby in September!

Amy, thank you for the last four years. Your willingness to jump in, care for our patients, and be part of what makes Metro special has made a real difference. It’s hard to imagine Metro without you, and we’re grateful you’re on this journey with us.

Happy 4-year anniversary, Amy! We can’t wait to see what this next year brings for you, your growing family, and all of us at Metro.
