Schizophrenia affects more than 1% of the US population. Approximately half of individuals with schizophrenia have co-occurring mental and/or behavioral health disorders. Research also reveals a concerning relationship between cannabis use and schizophrenia.

Today, at Behavioral Crossorads, we encourage clients and their families to learn the signs and symptoms of schizophrenia, understand how they impact lives, and discover how early help can make a big difference. We offer a range of outpatient addiction and mental health treatment services. This year, let us end the stigma, provide support and advocate for our loved ones with mental illness.

This is from Keith Johnson counselor and US Army veteran:

This Memorial Day, we pause to remember the heroes whose seats at the table remain forever empty.

The missing place setting is more than a symbol — it is a reminder of the brave men and women who answered the call to serve and made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation, our freedoms, and our future. While families gather today, many carry the quiet weight of someone who never came home.

May we honor their courage, remember their sacrifice, and never forget the cost of freedom.

From all of us at Greenbranch, Firstbranch, and The Crossroads Companies, we extend our deepest gratitude to our fallen service members and the families who continue to carry their legacy.

🇺🇸 Gone, but never forgotten. 🇺🇸

Today, Behavioral Crossroads Recovery proudly held our Mental Health Awareness Support Day — a meaningful opportunity for clients and staff to come together through compassion, honesty, and shared experience.

Throughout the day, individuals courageously opened up about their personal journeys, challenges, growth, and recovery. These conversations serve as a powerful reminder that mental health affects us all and that healing is strengthened through connection, understanding, and community support.

At BCR, we believe no one should feel alone in their struggles. By supporting one another, reducing stigma, and creating safe spaces for open dialogue, we continue building a culture rooted in empathy, resilience, and hope.

Thank you to every staff member and client who participated and helped make today impactful. Your voices matter, your stories matter, and together we continue moving forward — one day at a time. 💚

This Mental Health Awareness Month, we recognize the importance of open conversations surrounding mental health. Detroit Pistons' Duncan Robinson recently opened up about the death of his older brother Eli last year because of substance abuse and . Mental health conditions are very common: According to NAMI, 1 in 5 adults in the U.S. experience mental illness.

Mental Health Matters at Behavioral Crossroads which offers one of New Jersey's leading day treatment programs to help individuals with psychiatric illnesses and co-occurring substance abuse disorders. Behavioral Crossroads mental health partial care Program Director, Tara Collins-Johnston, LCSW, says: "Stories like Eli Robinson’s highlight the need for conversations around stigma and early intervention. When individuals receive consistent treatment and support for their mental health and addiction, outcomes are often significantly stronger than addressing each condition on its own. Programs, such as ours, have the advantage of identifying warning signs before things lead to crisis or even hospitalization. This is done through an integrated treatment approach that includes daily therapeutic groups that focus on relapse prevention and emotional regulation, comprehensive assessments, safety planning as well as coordination with community providers to ensure the most appropriate level of care."
