This site is meant to be a support resource for all moms with new babies associated with every branch of the military. Please feel free to post any comments or information that you feel may be helpful to other moms. Meetings are 4:30-6:30 Thursdays in the OB Clinic of the Eglin Hospital beginning Sept 5, 2013.

Another question from our inbox, can you help this mom? "I'm 14 weeks pregnant and still nursing our two year old. Frequently when he latches, it hurts like he's biting but he is not. It's not the same feeling as thrush or as the really early ni**le sensativity that comes with pregnancy. Once he's latched it's fine, but just at first, OMG. Curls my toes it's so painful. Is this my milk drying up? Or something else?"

A question from our inbox, can you help this mama: "I'm having a issues with my 4week old she doesn't want to stay latched on properly she rather keep a shallow latch. I'll take her off and latch again but after a few sucks she does the same thing pulls herself off or pills back to latch how she wants it's very irritating and starting to make me so sore. Any advice on how to fix her lazy latch"

Hey working moms! This "Back to Work" breastfeeding class is soooooo good! It takes some preparation and practice to get the hang of timing bottles and pumping and balancing pumping and working, so sign up! For Babies' Sake is in Texas, but the class is ONLINE! Yay!

Returning to work? I cannot say enough great things about this organization and Maya, the instructor for this class. Pumping doesn't always come easy whether it's navigating your HR or getting your body to cooperate, but either way, if you're returning to work you NEED to prepare and plan. This class is a fantastic place to get real life info from an experienced working mom.

Fascinating article about the benefits of baby wearing instead of leaving baby in her car seat. Link in first comment.

With the recent press release about whether breastmilk is really so much better, a lot of BF supporters have spoken up. Here's another really good article about the benefits. Can we OVER estimate the benefits of breastfeeding? I don't think so. Link in the first comment.
