LA heat hits differently and not in a good way.

Do you actually know the difference between heat exhaustion and heat stroke? One means rest and water. The other means calling 911. Getting them mixed up could cost someone their life.

We broke it all down in this guide made specifically for Angelenos. Read it. Save it. Share it with someone who spends time outdoors this summer.

As temperatures rise in LA, knowing the difference between heat exhaustion and heat stroke could save a life.

Heat exhaustion signs include heavy sweating, dizziness or nausea, muscle cramps, and cool, pale skin. If you or anyone you know experiences heat exhaustion, move to a cool area immediately, hydrate, and rest.

Heat stroke is an emergency. Call 911 immediately if the body temperature goes above 103°F, the person at risk is experiencing confusion or loss of consciousness, or they’re not sweating while having red, dry, hot skin.
