This mama hired me knowing there was a chance I wouldn’t be there physically for the birth of her first child due to our family vacation.

This vacation didn’t stop a thing. I supported this mom virtually throughout her entire induction. I’m so unbelievably proud of her and can’t wait to celebrate her and her growing family when I get back 💚🫶🏾

You gotta love a good “this isn’t real labor!”story from a first time mom 😝

I got a text last night from asking if I was available to be on call for her momma. I was available so I said sure. I waited about an hour before something told to take a shower and get myself ready for a long time.

The mom gave me a call just before 10p letting me know she was headed to the birth center to get checked and she would let me know if it were real and if I should head over. Well it was very real and momma was in transition!

This woman was a complete badass and delivered her beautiful baby girl about an hour after I arrived and met her for the first time 😅. I’m always in awe of how calming water births can be.

I still can’t believe I did it! Two births, two states, two hospitals, 3 babies within 12 hours or each other, and working for about 36 hours straight 😮‍💨💪🏽

But it’s not about me! I have to brag on this twin mama for a second. About 32 hours of induced labor, only 3 of which were active labor, 20 mins of pushing and no tearing 💪🏽💪🏽 she really put in the work and overcame so many obstacles this pregnancy. Being proud of her truly doesn’t describe how I feel. Thank you for trusting in me and allowing me to be along for the ride. 💚🥰

I always say “babies will come how and when they are supposed to!” And this little guy did just that!

These June babies are all making a break for it. This month, I’ve found myself trying to stop contractions more often than get them going and it’s been an amazing growing experience for me! So proud of this mom and so very excited for their family! 💙🙌🏽

A condition that impacts millions of women is getting a new name.

Polycystic o***y syndrome, or PCOS, a reproductive hormone imbalance, will now be known as polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome, or PMOS for short.

A global consensus calling for the name change was published Tuesday in The Lancet, based on input from more than 50 leading academic, clinical, and patient organizations, along with feedback from more than 14,000 women with the condition.

Experts say the old name was misleading, since it suggests ovarian cysts are the main issue when they are not actually a defining feature.

Yesterday was a tough one. I like to think that hard times will lead to something even greater.

It’s very rare that as a doula, I will steer you away from your birth plan. I will always do what I can to give you the birth experience you desire, unless that plan puts you and your baby at risk. Unfortunately that was the case yesterday.

I want all my clients to know that my priority as a doula is to educate you on your choices and help you and your baby make it home safely. 💚
