As I was writing the chapter “The Best Begins with Yes” in A Journey of Sunsets, I describe the main character, Brenée, as “the shape that wouldn’t square.” As soon as those words came to me, all sorts of ideas began to fill my imagination. What if I wrote a children’s book inspired by that phrase? What shape would she be? What would her story be about? And, most importantly, what lesson would I want children to take away from it?
And that’s how this story was born!
I wrote this book with future generations in mind, and for all those people who, like me, simply refuse to fit the mold!
