Paso del Norte Health Foundation

Paso del Norte Health Foundation The Paso del Norte Health Foundation in El Paso, Texas is one of the largest private foundations on the U.S./Mexico border.

The Health Foundation works effectively across these boundaries in partnership and collaboration with other organizations to plan and implement programs that address disease prevention and health education. The main focus of the Health Foundation is to help those within the region who are most in need. To envision the region where all people, regardless of socio-economic status have the knowledge, resources, and environment they need to live healthy lives. To achieve this, the Health Foundation has developed a creative, pro-active approach to improving the long-term health of the region. Below are the health priority areas of funding:

Healthy Living
Disease Prevention & Management
Health Leadership

Unsolicited grant proposals are not accepted by the Health Foundation. However, when launching a new Request For Proposals (RFP), the Health Foundation offers grant workshops for nonprofit organizations to better understand the purpose of the initiative or program and how to respond to the RFP. Program officers are available to discuss ideas for future programs and welcome suggestions from regional organizations.

Celebrating 25 years of the Smoke Free Ordinance! 🫁

The El Paso City Council recognized the 25th anniversary of the Smoke Free Ordinance with a proclamation honoring the community action and collaboration that helped create healthier public spaces.

Passed in 2001, El Paso made history as the first city in Texas to adopt a Smoke Free Ordinance of its kind. This milestone reflects the collective efforts of community advocates, residents, elected officials, public health professionals, health care partners, businesses, and organizations who came together to protect people from secondhand smoke.

Today, partners across the region continue this work through A Smoke Free Paso del Norte and the Paso del Norte To***co Control Network, educating the public about emerging to***co and va**ng trends.

Here’s to 25 years of working together for a healthier Paso del Norte! A Smoke Free Paso Del Norte
