The Medical Center of the Americas (MCA) Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that works to advance the development of the MCA Campus and the regional biomedical innovation pipeline. The MCA Campus nucleus of new and proliferating medical facilities (in El Paso, Texas) includes Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center Paul L. Foster School of Medicine, its primary teaching hospital U

niversity Medical Center of El Paso and the new El Paso Children’s Hospital. It is also site to a developing biomedical research park, being spearheaded by the MCA Foundation.

Clinical research is one of the fastest-growing fields in the industry, and the MCA’s West Texas Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) Skills Based Learning Course is your opportunity to get started. This accelerated training program is designed to prepare participants with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to enter the clinical trials workforce.

Over 9 weeks, participants will complete industry-focused, hands-on training and gain exposure to real-world clinical research practices. Selected participants may also qualify for a paid apprenticeship opportunity ($16/hr | up to 480 hours).

The Innovation Center hosted a successful 2-day Pitch Clinic workshop focused on helping participants strengthen and refine their pitches.

Thank you to David Novick for leading the workshop and to our guest coaches, Meagan Kendall, Ph.D., Associate Professor in the Department of Engineering Education and Leadership at UTEP, and Jacob Croft, Director of Licensing and Commercialization, for sharing their expertise and guidance throughout the sessions.
