“Exercise.” “Eat Healthy.” “Move more, eat less.” You’ve probably heard these words so frequently throughout your life that they have begun to lose their true meaning. It becomes that background “yada, yada, yada” noise that “we know we should do” or the “I’ll do it tomorrow” idea. But stay with me for a minute because I want to bring you back to WHY moving your body is so helpful and beneficial for you and not just some fad phrase.
Our world has become stricken to chronic diseases, so much so that nearly every single person knows someone in their life who has one. Now, unfortunately genetic factors and certain variables that are out of our control can cause these diseases, however, did you know that many/if not most of these ARE preventable. Which means you can put the power back into your hands and lessen your chances of being diagnosed.
Most major chronic health conditions in our world today (Heart Disease, Type 2 Diabetes, Obesity, High Blood Pressure, Osteoporosis, Depression and Anxiety, Certain Cancers) all share something in common. While each of these conditions are complex on their own, they each share the most powerful tool to help prevent and manage them, and it’s something simple, exercise.
Movement strengthens your heart (because remember, your heart is a muscle), improves insulin sensitivity, builds bone density, regulates blood pressure, supports mental health, improves circulation and oxygen delivery (many cancers thrive from lack of oxygen) and helps maintain a healthy body composition.
My work as a personal trainer is preventative care. Which means we can do our part in preventing and reversing these harmful diseases.
Helping you move well, build strength, and stay consistent with exercise isn't just about aesthetics and performance — it’s about long-term health and quality of life.
If you need help in getting started, I am here to help.
