Most of us would know how to help if we saw someone having a heart attack — we’d start CPR or call 9-1-1. But too few of us would know how to respond if we saw someone having a panic attack or showing signs of alcohol use disorder. Just as CPR helps you assist an individual having a heart attack, Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) teaches you how to assist and support others who may be experiencing a mental health or substance use challenge. Join FSA to learn how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges among children and adolescents ages 12-18. Email Adam Kurczak to register! Clients attended a 6 week group to learn emotional awareness and behavior management skills in a fun, energetic setting. Clients were able to enjoy activities where they identified emotions, practiced a variety of ways to express big emotions in a safer way (destroying boxes, ripping paper, doing exercises), and practiced a variety of activities where they had to challenge their frustrations and grow their communication skills in order to succeed!
