📍 Where's Whitney? 🐎🌾

I recently had the joy of attending Mustang Mornings on the Farm with the Corolla Wild Horse Fund, and I left with an even greater appreciation for these incredible horses and the people who work tirelessly to protect them.

From the moment I arrived, the staff was so gracious, knowledgeable, kind, and welcoming. They didn't just teach us about the Colonial Spanish Mustangs—they invited each of us to be part of the experience. I even got a little love from one of the Bankers, Carlos! ❤️

We also had the opportunity to watch Secrets of Corolla, and I'll admit... there was a moment when I found myself wiping away tears. Learning about the strength, intelligence, independence, and resilience of these beautiful horses reminded me what an extraordinary part of our history they are.

Spending time on the farm brought me so much joy. These majestic horses aren't just a symbol of the Outer Banks—they're a living reminder of the wild spirit, rich history, and natural beauty that make this place so special.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone at the Corolla Wild Horse Fund for sharing your passion and for helping preserve this remarkable piece of our coastal heritage.

If this sounds like something you'd enjoy, you're in luck! On Tuesday, August 11, you can meet one of the Corolla Wild Horse Fund's Banker horses at Duck Town Park from 10:00–11:00 a.m. Then, on Wednesday, August 12, experience Mustang Mornings on the Farm at the Betsy Dowdy Equine Center in Grandy. Mustang Mornings are offered only through August 26, so don't miss your chance to experience this unforgettable program and learn more about these remarkable horses and the important work being done to protect them.

💚 Have you ever attended Mustang Mornings on the Farm or met one of the Banker horses? I'd love to hear about your experience in the comments!

📍 Where's Whitney? 💃🎭

I recently spent another lovely morning in Duck... what a treat!

I had the opportunity to attend the Small Plates Choreography Festival at the Duck Amphitheater, and it was such a beautiful reminder of the power of movement and storytelling. Sitting so close and watching each performance unfold, I was reminded how dance can express emotions, create connections, and make you feel something without saying a single word. Dance truly transforms.

The performances also brought back wonderful memories of my own years of dancing. As my dad said after seeing these photos, "It brought back memories of watching you dance." Those words made me smile because dance has always held a special place in my heart, and it was such a joy to experience that feeling again.

A heartfelt thank you to the Town of Duck for continuing to bring the arts into our community in such a creative, thoughtful, and inspiring way. Thank you as well to Baran Dance, DanceArtTheater, and Haven Movement Company for sharing your incredible talent, passion, and artistry with all of us. I'm also grateful to Betsy Tremble, the Town of Duck's Community Engagement Coordinator, for helping create experiences like this that enrich our community.

If you enjoy live entertainment, be sure to check out the Duck Amphitheater's upcoming events! From the Concert on the Green series and the intimate performances of Duck Unplugged to the dramatic retelling of The Wreck of the Dictator, there's something for everyone to enjoy throughout the season.
