❤️ Equipped to Serve. Prepared to Save Lives.

Our Wise County Women’s Campus recently participated in CPR training! 🚑❤️

At RSM, we believe transformation goes beyond recovery. It’s about equipping men and women with practical life skills, building confidence, developing responsibility, and preparing them to make a difference in the lives of others.

Every new skill learned is another step toward a future filled with purpose!

We’re proud of our ladies for continuing to grow, learn, and embrace every opportunity to become better equipped to serve others.

Restoring lives. Building leaders. Raising up world changers. 🙌

I remember my life starting to change when I was about 10 years old. My mother had left my father and not long after that she got into a relationship with another man. The man that she decided to get into a relationship had a bad record. He had been in a lot of trouble and because of this DSS got involved and my sister and I were not supposed to be around him. My mother kept taking us around him when we were not supposed to be and DSS ended up taking us away from her and we had to go stay with my dad. My Dad and my Mom were both good people. My Dad worked for the Fire Department for many years and my Mom worked for the Sheriffs Dept. My mom ended up having to resign after they found out about her relationship. My Dad left the Fire Department and after that had a hard time keeping a job. He had a drinking problem and I think that had a lot to do with why my Mother and Father got a divorce. Eventually the man my Mother married went to prison and after that happened my Father let us go back and stay with her. After we moved back in with her I ended up meeting my sons father. I was 14 years old when I met him. I had just started high school. He was older than me and didn’t go to school. He had already been in a lot of trouble. My mother was fine with me having a relationship with him though. He was in and out of jail through our relationship. I remember being very young and my mother taking me to see him in jail. He cheated on me and I found out about it. I left him for a little while but I decided to forgive him and try to make our relationship work. I ended up moving in with him when I was 16 years old. After I moved in with him my life started to go down hill. I started hanging out with all his friends and they introduced me to drugs. At first it was just something I would do on the weekend or on occasion but eventually it started to be everyday. I ended up becoming physically addicted to them and needed them. I got tired of being dependent on them and the lifestyle that came with it and I decided to go to the methadone clinic. Doing that I was able to have a some what normal life. A few months after I started that I ended up getting pregnant with my first son. Things were going good for a while but I knew that there was something missing and that things weren’t the way they were supposed to be. My sons dad and I were still together but we had grown son far apart. I don’t think either of us were very happy in the relationship but we were still trying to make it work. He ended up getting some Xanax bars one day and we started doing them. After that happened it led into more things. We started fighting all the time and couldn’t get along. He told me that if I loved him I would quit my job and stay home with my son top try to make our relationship work. After I quit my job and started to stay home I got very depressed. The drugs got worse and him and I were still fighting. I started talking to other men to try to find some kind of comfort. I ended up leaving my sons dad after I met my daughters dad. I wanted to get clean and he was telling me that he wanted the same thing. I thought that getting with him and getting away from the life I had been living I would be able to fix my life but that was not what happened. Whenever I left my sons dad and got with him my Mother called DSS on me. She did not like him and did not want me with him. DSS ended up taking my sons. I was trying to do the things that I needed to be able to get them back but I couldn’t. I didn’t have a job, my car had broken down and my life was spiraling out of control. While all of this was happening I got pregnant with my daughter. Her dad kept telling me we were going to get clean and get our life together but we were very toxic for each other. After I had my daughter DSS took her to and after that I just lost hope. I had lost my children my job my car and my family. My daughters dad was the only thing I had left and it was not a good relationship to be in. He was very mentally abusive and we could not get along. After a while I lost him too. After that happened I ended up in detox. I didn’t know what I was going to do. I came out of detox and went back to him for a little while. This time was different though. I had never been around him and not been on drugs and being off drugs I was able to see what had been happening and the things that were going on in our relationship that I wasn’t able to see before. I left him and went to stay with my mom and my children. She let me come there because for the first time in years I was off drugs. I stayed off drugs for almost a year and stayed with my mom and my children. I was always thinking thought about my mom and about the things that were going on in my life. Because of this me and my mom could not get along. We were to see my sister at a program that she was in and they ended up telling me about Recovery Soldiers. A few months after they told me about them my mom brought me here. Coming to Recovery soldiers has taught me about God and about what it means to have a relationship with him. I didn’t know God before I came here. I had always heard of God but really didn’t know what is was about or how to have a relationship with him. Coming here has taught me all of that and more. I have learned how to have relationships again with people,. That is something I had forgot about through my addiction. It has taught me how to work and have a job and responsibilities again. All the things that I had lost or forgotten how to do through my addiction it had taught me how to do again. I am working on my relationship with my Mother and my Children again. I am working on my relationship with God and I am working on my relationship with myself. I am so thankful for God and for RSM for giving me this opportunity.

Sometimes, the beauty of God’s creation leaves you speechless. 🌅

This breathtaking view was captured right here on our Recovery Soldiers Ministries Wise County Women’s Campus.

There’s something so powerful about the sun breaking through the trees, reminding us that no matter how dark the night has been, the light always finds a way through.

And that’s exactly what this campus represents. A place where broken lives are being restored, hope is being renewed, and women are discovering that their past does not have to define their future.

What a beautiful reminder of God’s faithfulness. We are so blessed to call this place home. 🤍

There is something beautiful about a woman laying down her plans, her past, her pain, and saying, “Jesus, You are Lord of my life.” ❤️

This is where real transformation begins—at the feet of Jesus, fully surrendered. 🙌

“I made Jesus Lord of my life.” 🙌

A simple declaration that represents an entirely new direction.

The past doesn’t get the final word. Addiction doesn’t get the final word. Jesus does. ✝️🔥

We celebrate another life surrendered to Him!

Everything changes when Jesus becomes Lord. 🙌

Not just Savior. Not just someone we call on when life gets hard. LORD of our lives.

Today, another woman made that declaration: “I made Jesus Lord of my life.” ❤️✝️

This is what freedom looks like. This is what transformation looks like.

🏗️ THE FAMILY CENTER IS COMING TO LIFE! 🙌

Exciting progress is happening at our Recovery Soldiers Ministries Women’s Campus in Wise, Virginia! The pad has been poured, the walls are up, and our new Family Center is coming right along!

We are so excited for everything this space will bring to our campus—dedicated counseling and therapy rooms, classrooms, office space, areas for families to connect, and so much more.

Every wall going up represents more opportunities for healing, growth, restoration, and transformation. This Family Center will give us even more space and resources to pour into the women we serve and the families connected to their lives.

What started as a vision is becoming a reality right before our eyes, and we can’t wait to see how God uses this building to impact families for generations to come. ❤️

The best is still ahead for Wise, Virginia!
