🌟 INTERN SPOTLIGHT: Meet Jordana! 🌟

We’re excited to welcome Jordana to the Elizabethtown Astra Behavioral Health team as she completes her internship! ❤️💙

Jordana is currently a student at the University of Louisville, pursuing dual master’s degrees in Marriage & Family Therapy (MSCFT) and Social Work (MSSW).

Originally from Florida, Jordana spent nearly 10 years serving in the U.S. Navy, an experience that took her around the world before her journey eventually brought her to Kentucky. Her passion for helping others and making a meaningful difference in people’s lives inspired her to continue her education and pursue a career as a therapist.

Outside of her professional and academic pursuits, Jordana loves cooking, traveling, and spending time with her child. She is eager to continue learning, growing, and gaining valuable experience with Astra.

Jordana welcomes the opportunity to learn from those around her and encourages our team to share advice, insight, and knowledge that may help her throughout her master’s program and future career.

We are proud to share that Astra Behavioral Health attended the recent Overdose Awareness Day community event hosted by the Marion County Heartland Coalition. Courtney from our Lebanon office represented our team and connected with residents and community partners.

Thank you to the Coalition for bringing our community together for this vital cause. This event served as a powerful space to honor those who have fought or are currently fighting their battles with addiction. We celebrate their resilience and every step of their recovery journey.

At the same time, we hold space to remember and honor those we have tragically lost to overdose. Their lives mattered, and their memories fuel our continued mission to provide support, reduce stigma and save lives.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to speak with Courtney and learn more about our services. Remember, you don't have to walk this path alone—there is a community of people here to support you.

This week, we’re excited to spotlight one of our compassionate Licensed Professional Counselor Associates (LPCA), Sarah! 💙

With a passion for helping clients feel truly seen, accepted, and empowered to become the best versions of themselves, Sarah provides a safe and supportive space for healing, growth, and living more fully in the present moment.

She works with individuals experiencing trauma, depression, anxiety, self-esteem concerns, and challenges related to difficult or traumatic life experiences. A central focus of her work is helping clients understand and regulate the nervous system, particularly when trauma and chronic stress contribute to anxiety, hypervigilance, emotional overwhelm, or difficulty connecting with others.

🧠 Her therapeutic approach includes:
• EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)
• Somatic and body-focused approaches
• Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
• Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
• Nervous system regulation and mind-body awareness

With a background in Exercise Science, Sarah brings a unique understanding of the connection between physical and emotional well-being. She is also passionate about neuroscience and continually expanding her knowledge of research-based approaches to trauma treatment and healing.

Her style is collaborative and goal-oriented while remaining flexible to what each client needs in the moment. Above all, Sarah strives to create a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental environment where clients can process their experiences, develop practical tools, and move toward lasting healing and growth. 💙

Olivea is dedicated to making sure both kiddos and staff have everything they need to create a seamless, welcoming, and supportive environment. With more than five years of experience in childcare and education, she brings valuable experience and a passion for supporting others to her role.

Olivea holds an Associate of Arts degree and a Bachelor of Visual Studies degree and says one of her favorite parts of her role is being part of an amazing team that prioritizes mental well-being and community.

Dawn has dedicated more than 17 years to the field of social work, including 7 years specializing in mental health, and has consistently demonstrated exceptional clinical leadership, compassion, and a commitment to providing high-quality, evidence-based care. We are excited to have her leading our clinical team as we continue expanding access to behavioral health services across Kentucky.

Dawn earned her Master of Science in Social Work (MSSW) from the University of Louisville's Kent School of Social Work, where she developed a strong foundation in social justice and evidence-informed practice.

She believes that finding the right support is a courageous first step toward healing and that therapy is a collaborative journey where each client remains the expert in their own life. Dawn creates a welcoming, nonjudgmental, strength-based environment where individuals, couples, and families feel empowered to grow and thrive.

Dawn has extensive experience treating a wide range of behavioral health concerns, including:

Please join us in congratulating Jennifer Cieslak on her promotion to Lead Therapist for Bright Path Academy, Astra Behavioral Health's Day Treatment Program in partnership with Hardin County Schools! 🎉❤️

Jennifer has been a valued member of the Astra Behavioral Health team for the past three years, bringing compassion, professionalism, and a genuine commitment to helping children and families thrive.

She earned her Master's Degree in Counseling from Lindsey Wilson University and is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC). Throughout her career, Jennifer has gained extensive experience in outpatient therapy, group counseling, school-based services, addiction treatment, and family therapy.

Jennifer takes an integrative, evidence-based approach to care, utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Person-Centered Therapy, and Family Systems Theory to provide individualized, client-centered treatment that empowers each person to achieve meaningful growth and lasting success.

We are excited to see Jennifer lead our Bright Path Academy team and continue making a positive impact on the lives of students and families in our community.
