As many of you know, earlier this year I stepped away from Brighter Futures Training and returned to Communicare as the Assistant Director of Children’s Services. While I’m still providing trainings through Brighter Futures Counseling, PLLC, my career has shifted fully back to Community Mental Health—and I’m incredibly excited about the work ahead.
With that said… I’ve been waiting to share this one!
🎉 We’re officially OPEN! 🎉
Communicare’s Children’s Crisis Stabilization Unit (CCSU) is now open in Elizabethtown, Kentucky, providing 24/7 support for children and teens ages 4–17 experiencing a mental health crisis.
Our 12-bed crisis stabilization unit is designed to give children and families a safe, supportive place to turn when things feel overwhelming and they aren’t sure what to do next.
When a family reaches out, our team will meet with them, listen to what’s happening, and complete a thorough risk assessment. From there, we’ll work together to determine the best next step.
That may mean:
• A short-term stay at our Children’s Crisis Stabilization Unit
• Connection to outpatient therapy or other behavioral health services
• Help identifying community resources and supports
• Developing a plan to help the child and family safely move forward
Not every child who comes to us will need to stay at the unit—and that’s okay. Our goal is to help families figure out what they do need and connect them with the right level of care.
We’re here 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
If a child or teen in your family is experiencing a mental health crisis—or you simply aren’t sure what kind of help they need—call us at 270-375-1010.
You don’t have to know exactly what to ask for. Start with a call, and we’ll help you figure out the next step.
Please share so families throughout our community know this resource is here when they need it. See less
