I had the honor of being a guest speaker at today’s “ Grace Under Pressure “ book signing event. Darnisha Lee, her beautiful daughter Azziah, colleagues, community members and a most excellent New Rochelle police officer, Conor, attended this special event. Grace Under Pressure is a supportive guide for parents navigating the complexities of seeking, discovering and managing a diagnosis of autism for their child.

Thank you, Darnisha , for the invitation to discuss stress management as a clinician and fellow parent of a special needs child. The path is daunting, confusing and often lonely until we meet “ our people “- fellow parents and caregivers. Kudos to you for providing this excellent resource!

Back for a week of Trauma Informed training with Dr. Bessel van Der Kolk at the ~ where I began my IMAGO training with Drs. Harville Hendrix and Helen LaKelly Hunt, EFT training with Dr. Robert Schwarz, both weeks leading to my specialty certifications. Also a week of IFS ( Internal Family Systems) with Dr. Richard C. Schwartz during COVID. It’s good to be back to “retrain my brain “ as we say in several trauma informed therapy approaches. 😊

Donna Eden is a ROCKSTAR ⭐️💫✨🌟❣️❣️in the Energy Psychology and Energy Medicine world. As I made my way to my Lyft after a long, enriching and draining ( new learning takes as well as gives energy ) week at the ACEP conference, I had the pleasure, privilege and honor of thanking Donna and her husband Dr. David Feinstein for their life’s work and keynote presentation on Sunday. For those unfamiliar with this area of work the best way to consider it is as a human interaction form of physics, electricity and even mathematics . I am not well versed in either of these but can say the concept of “ where attention goes, energy flows” is a foundational one for us. Except the energy is about relationships, healing intentions, and is drawn from many schools of thought in ancient traditions and Eastern Medicine.
Donna’s own energy is bright and palpable and truly contagious. I left this selfie boosted for the next hour.
This moment helped me re-set about why I do the work I do and wish to continue it.
