🚨 The OMMA Audit Is In. Oklahoma Deserves Answers. 🚨
The Oklahoma State Auditor has released the long-awaited Operational Audit of the Oklahoma Medical Ma*****na Authority (OMMA), and every patient, license holder, healthcare provider, policymaker, and taxpayer should take the time to read it.
The audit identifies significant operational and administrative deficiencies, including concerns involving internal controls, inventory tracking, documentation, organizational accountability, communication, and governance.
It is important to note that the audit does not allege theft, fraud, corruption, or criminal misconduct. Instead, it documents areas where OMMA’s operations and oversight need improvement and provides recommendations aimed at strengthening the agency.
For years, many Oklahomans have called for greater transparency, accountability, and consistency within the medical ma*****na program. This audit is an important step toward identifying where improvements can be made—but it should be viewed as the beginning of the conversation, not the end.
Patients deserve confidence that the products they rely on are regulated appropriately.
Licensees deserve fair, consistent, and impartial enforcement.
Taxpayers deserve transparency and accountability.
Oklahoma has the opportunity to become a national leader in medical cannabis regulation—but only if we are willing to learn from these findings and implement meaningful reforms.
I encourage everyone to read the audit for yourself. Don’t rely on headlines or social media posts. Review the report, understand the findings, and make your own informed conclusions.
