**Good news! Sonny has multiple applications. He's all set.**
Well here's a sad one...
Sonny was born at a shelter last spring. And there he has remained for the last 10 months. That's rightβhe has lived his ENTIRE life in a shelter. He has been lucky to have had a spot for that long, but his luck is about to run out, and he needs a rescue commitment asap.
AHF would love to help Sonny and give him the chance he has always deserved, but we can't do it without your help. We can only rescue him if someone can give him a foster or foster-to-adopt home. Can you help Sonny???
Sonny hasn't been passed over because there's something wrong with him. He's in a rural shelter with dismal adoption rates. (There are enough dogs running around loose or being given away that shelter dogs don't have much of a chance.)
One of Sonny's most impressive qualities is his ability to be happy with what he has. Some dogs break after ten months in a shelter, but spending almost all his time in a cage with his two brothers is all he knows, and he's okay with it.
Sonny loves people and gets so excited to be around them. Yes, he's jumpy, so he'd probably accidentally knock little kids over, but he's friendly toward everyone and should be totally fine with older kids. Sonny is great with other dogs. No aggression whatsoever. Cats are a maybe. He is curious about them and will bark but shows no interest in trying to hurt them. He's not a barker in general. He's usually pretty quiet in his cage and he doesn't tear up his blankets or towels. He doesn't get let out routinely like a house dog, so he'll have to learn that part of home life.
Sonny is a super fun, energetic, and playful young dog. He's full of life...for now. Please consider giving Sonny a home so we can rescue him!
