Office update #2:
We are very excited to introduce you to Nova, our office therapy dog! Nova is no ordinary dog. She has trained for 2 years at an Assistance Dogs International accredited organization alongside disability service dogs. You may see Nova in the office for the next 4 months getting used to her new job before she finalizes her training and is available to help treat our patients. Once she has completed her task training in the office, she will be available to our patients during their dental treatment. She will be able to stand next to the chair to provide support and companionship, as well as perform our personal favorite command, โSquish,โ where she can lay on top of the patient, acting like a weighted blanket to help reduce anxiety.
Please note: We know that some people do not like dogs and that some people have allergies. We already have several systems in place to help. If you are not a fan of dogs, that is OK, please just let us know and we will make sure Nova is not present in the treatment area when you are in the office. For allergies, we have a variety of different methods to minimize allergens. In addition to our regular office cleaning protocols, we also have HEPA air filters in every room, as well as two Atmos Air Bipolar Ionization units in our HVAC system which constantly clean the air and should greatly reduce any allergens. Finally, we want your experience with Nova to be a positive one, so she will be groomed and bathed frequently.
