Most of us can’t remember what we ate two weeks ago or who we saw on a random Tuesday. Yet we remember birthdays, graduations, championships, promotions, and milestones years later. Why? Because they were celebrated.

The same is true for loss. We remember the goals that mattered, the opportunities that slipped away, and the seasons that hurt because we took time to grieve them.

The 24-hour rule isn't about ignoring your emotions. It's about giving them their place without giving them permanent residence.

Honor your wins. Grieve your losses. Then continue the journey.

Some people spend their lives helping others find direction. Dr. Andrew Chisel is one of those people.

Over the years, his journey has taken him through military service, ministry, leadership, mediation, and psychotherapy. While the roles have changed, one thing has remained the same: a passion for helping people navigate challenges, discover purpose, and move forward with confidence.

Dr. Chisel brings a thoughtful, compassionate approach to working with individuals and couples facing life transitions, relationship concerns, burnout, leadership challenges, questions of faith, and personal growth. He believes that meaningful change happens when people feel truly seen, supported, and understood.

We are grateful to welcome Dr. Drew Chisel to the Peacetree Family Institute team and are excited for the wisdom, experience, and care he will bring to those we serve.

Now accepting new clients via telehealth throughout Minnesota.

Self-care can look like a bubble bath, but it also looks like choosing yourself! Let's care for our mental health this month. 🤍

Set a boundary without guilt!

Show up for yourself in small, consistent ways!

Reach out for support before you’re empty!

If “rest” is all you can do today, that counts. If “asking” is what you need today, that counts. Give yourself credit!

Think of these mini prompts when caring for yourself today:
Boundaries: What boundary would make tomorrow 10% lighter?
Showing up for yourself: What’s one small way you can show up for yourself today?
Support: Who can you reach out to today?

READ CAPTION
Migraines are not solely neurological and may be influenced by musculoskeletal tension and nervous system dysregulation.
Chronic restriction in the cervical, shoulder, and fascial systems can contribute to recurring symptoms.
When these patterns persist, pain may continue despite standard treatment.

Physiological Contributing Factors

Muscular & Fascial Tension
- Increased tension in the cervical and upper shoulder musculature may contribute to migraine patterns
- Myofascial restriction can create pressure and reduce mobility
- Deep tissue work targets these areas to reduce restriction and improve function

Nervous System Dysregulation
- The nervous system may remain in a state of chronic sympathetic activation
- This can increase sensitivity to pain and contribute to - migraine frequency or intensity
- Therapeutic work supports down-regulation and improved physiological balance

Lymphatic & Circulatory Factors
- The lymphatic system supports fluid regulation and inflammatory response
- Impaired flow may contribute to pressure and systemic overload
- Lymphatic drainage supports circulation and reduction of physiological stress

Maybe this Mother’s Day we release a little judgment and honor the reality that most children do not remember mothers perfectly or even accurately. They remember the feeling of being raised by a human being who was trying.🕊️

So apparently… people still get newspapers.

We found out because someone sent us a message saying, “Isn’t that Emily on the front page?” And sure enough, there she was. Not just online… but actual ink-on-paper, front page status.

Emily, our marketing manager officially made it into history books. Or at least recycling bins across Elk River.

In the same week we received a plaque for Best Mental Health Counseling Care in Elk River, Otsego, and Zimmerman from the Star News. Completely organic. No campaign. No push. We don’t even know who nominated us.

And honestly, that might be the part that means the most.

To whoever quietly thought of us, voted for us, or shared our name… thank you.
