💜 ONE WEEK AWAY — Join Us for the Annual Voices of Hope Overdose Vigil 💜

We are just one week away from our annual Overdose Vigil on August 31st at 6:30 PM, and we invite our community to come together for an evening of remembrance, reflection, support, and hope. 💜

This evening is dedicated to honoring the lives we have lost to overdose, supporting the families and loved ones who continue to carry that loss, and standing together as a community to remind those still struggling that recovery, hope, and healing are possible.

We welcome community members, families, friends, and anyone impacted by substance use to join us as we remember those we have lost, share stories, and support one another.

🕯️ Attendees are encouraged to bring a photo or remembrance item of a loved one they would like to honor.

🧶💜 Hands for Healing Knitting Class Coming to Voices of Hope! 💜🧶

We’re excited to introduce a new monthly opportunity for our community to connect, get creative, and learn a new skill together!

Join us for our Hands for Healing Knitting Class, held on the first Saturday of every month. Whether you’re brand new to knitting or have years of experience, this welcoming space is open to everyone looking to create, relax, and build connections with others.

📅 Date: September 5, 2026
⏰ Time: 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM
📍 Location: 227 Howard St., Elkton, MD
💲 Cost: $10 per person (Please scan the QR Code to register)

All proceeds from the class will be donated back to Voices of Hope. 💜

🧵 Supplies: Participants are encouraged to bring their own knitting tools and materials. New to knitting? No problem! A starter kit will be provided to help you get started.

🌟 Cecil County Adopt-A-Highway Cleanup! 🌟

This past Saturday, our Cecil team came together for another Adopt-A-Highway cleanup! 💪🧤 We spent the morning cleaning up our community, picking up trash, and helping make the area cleaner and safer for everyone.

It was great to see so many people come out for such an important cleanup. We are so thankful to everyone who showed up, worked hard, and gave their time to give back to the Cecil County community. Every bag collected and every piece of trash picked up makes a difference! ❤️

🌟 TEAM SPOTLIGHT: MIKE 🌟

Mike is a compassionate, reliable, and dedicated member of the Voices of Hope team who uses his lived experience to bring hope, understanding, and support to others.

For the past two years, Mike has served as a Peer Recovery Specialist in our Sustaining Peers in the Emergency Department (S-PED) program, helping individuals through some of the most difficult moments of their lives. His ability to listen without judgment, build trust, and meet people where they are has made a lasting impact on participants and community partners throughout Cecil County.

💙 Compassion. Empathy. Reliability. Dedication. Service.

Whether he’s supporting a participant, providing transportation, helping around the center, or simply stepping in wherever he’s needed, Mike is always willing to lend a hand.

We are proud to have Mike on our team and grateful for the difference he makes every day! 🙌

💙 A Special Thank You to Your Personal Chef! 🦀

Every year, we bring our Voices of Hope family together for our annual Crab Feast as a way to say thank you to our incredible staff for all of their hard work, dedication, and commitment to the people we serve.

This year was extra special because we were able to open the celebration to our residents and everyone's families, too! 🥰 It was an amazing day filled with good food, laughter, family, and community.

Recovery isn’t just about meetings, appointments, and treatment. Recovery is about learning how to live, laugh, connect, and have fun again.

That’s why game night matters.

For many people in recovery, isolation can be one of the biggest challenges. A simple night of games, laughter, friendly competition, and conversation creates a space where people can build friendships, strengthen their support system, and experience the joy of being part of a community.

Sometimes, recovery looks like sharing your story.
Sometimes, it looks like supporting someone who is struggling.
And sometimes, it looks like laughing with your friends over a game and realizing you’re having fun without substances.

These moments matter. They remind us that recovery isn’t just about what we’re leaving behind—it’s about everything we’re gaining.
