Meet Rene: our denturist

Rene’s background is dental assisting, which he did for over a decade! Then he decided to go to denturist school for three years and has been a denturist in this area for the last few years.

Having a denturist in the team is such a valuable service that Big Country Family Dental provides. Rene can meet with our patients in person, fix their dentures, without us needing to mail the dentures off site and wait for a week or two to get it back. Rene often has dentures back to us with repairs the following day!

This is what service looks like— an Rene does it so well! We are so thankful to have him on the team!

This beautiful patient came to us embarrassed about her smile.

Her upper front teeth were getting loose and she was missing many lower teeth.

She decided to go with a full fixed appliance over implants. We were able to remove teeth, place implants and give her a temporary set of teeth all in one day. This is her the following day after surgery and she says she feels amazing!

☀️ Summer reset!

Summer is here and with that, the UV rays are in full abundance! Here is a list of must do’s for summer.

1. BRING BACK FLOSSING! If you have fallen off the wagon, change in season is a good excuse to get back at those healthy habits! Flossing prevents bacterial biofilm from causing cavities and gum disease. Also helps prevent against Alzheimer’s, cancers and plaque accumulate on the heart. ❤️

2. Wide brimmed hat. The best sunscreen is a physical barrier. No chemicals, no PFAs, and super stylish! We recommend trying to block the sun between the hours of 1-3pm when the rays are at their strongest. Limiting these harsh rays can help prevent skin and lip cancer, wrinkles around the mouth, 👄 and keep cold sores at bay.

3. Lip balm with SPF. Consistent exposure to UV can cause lip . Check your lip balm to see if it has SPF protection!

4. Hydrate. The best hydration is just water! It’s a neutral pH and helps to support healthy mouths by encouraging saliva flow.

5. Whitening refresh. Nothing looks better than white teeth with that beautiful summer glow! Here at BCFD we offer

A great snack for you and your family when you’re out and about! I find it hard to find tooth friendly snacks that do not need to be refrigerated or are ultra processed. meat sticks are a great way to get your protein in during the day!
