Surprisingly, vacation didn't raise my HRV. 😅

What did? Spending time with my mom. ❤️

When I looked back at my data, I noticed several healthy HRV spikes over 100. The common denominator wasn't sleeping in, sitting by the water, or escaping my inbox. It was connection.

HRV (Heart Rate Variability) is one way we can assess how resilient and adaptable the autonomic nervous system is. And while we often focus on food, exercise, supplements, and sleep, we sometimes forget that relationships are a health input too.

Here's the really interesting part:

A 23-year study of more than 6,000 adults found that the people with the lowest risk of death weren't simply those who received support. They were the people who both gave and received support in roughly equal measure.

In contrast, individuals who received substantially more support than they provided were more likely to die during the study period.

That's a powerful reminder that helping, caring for, and showing up for others may be just as important as receiving support ourselves. ❤️

Sometimes improving your health isn't another supplement or habit stack.
Sometimes it's calling your mom.

Who's someone in your life that leaves you feeling better after spending time together?

Hot flashes are rude. 😅

They show up uninvited.
They interrupt meetings.
They wake you up at 2 AM.

And somehow always seem to arrive at the absolute worst moment.

If you're feeling like your internal thermostat has completely abandoned you, you're not imagining it. As estrogen and progesterone shift during perimenopause and menopause, the brain's temperature regulation center gets a little...confused.

One of my favorite natural tools? Herbal iced teas. 🌿🧊

The blog explores cooling herbs like:
🌹 Rose
🌿 Peppermint
🍃 Lemon balm
🌺 Hibiscus

Along with sage and holy basil, which may help support hot flashes and vascular function.

Because if menopause insists on bringing the heat...I'm at least showing up with iced tea.

Have you tried cold herbal brews to calm your body?

Supplement stack creep is real 😅

One day it's a probiotic.
Then a fish oil.
Then a fiber supplement.

Then suddenly your supplement cabinet needs its own budget line item.
Before you buy another bottle, ask yourself:

🥒 Could fermented foods replace my probiotic?
🍊 Could food cover my vitamin C needs?
🐟 Could I eat more SMASH fish instead of taking fish oil?
🌾 Could flax, chia, h**p, oat bran, or beans provide the prebiotics I'm looking for?

Don't get me wrong - supplements can be incredibly helpful. But sometimes the cheapest nutrition intervention is sitting in your refrigerator.

Food won't always replace supplements, but it's a good place to start.

What's the supplement you spend the most money on each month?

Supplements are expensive. 😅

One day you’re taking a multivitamin…and the next thing you know, you’ve got an entire supplement family living on your kitchen counter.

Before you buy another bottle, ask yourself:
👉 Why am I taking this?
👉 Is it actually helping?
👉 Could food accomplish the same goal?

The blog dives into practical ways to reduce supplement expenses without sacrificing your nutrition, including:

✔ How to decide if a supplement is still serving a purpose
✔ When a supplement holiday makes sense
✔ Whether multivitamins are a waste of money (spoiler: not necessarily)
✔ Food swaps that can replace certain supplements
✔ Some of the best supplements on a budget if you're prioritizing where to spend your money

Because sometimes the most therapeutic thing you can do for your health...is stop buying supplements you don't need. 💅

Read the blog before your supplement cabinet files for its own ZIP code.

Folding towels…while my brain has 47 tabs open…solving world peace, replaying conversations, and planning dinner 😅

Midlife mental load is real.

Sometimes the practice isn’t doing more - it’s coming back to the simple thing in front of you.

One towel.
One breath.
One moment.

Not perfect. Just present.

What’s your go-to “mundane task” that somehow becomes therapy?

06/01/2026

I have the secret to midlife health…

It’s called doing what makes you happy 😌

Not the trend.
Not the “should.”
Not whatever workout is being yelled at you on the internet this week.

The one you’ll actually do. The one that feels good in your body.

That’s the one that works.

Entering my IDGAF era! 💅

What’s your “I’m doing this because I want to” movement?

05/29/2026

Making my own gym on the beach…not because I have to - because it feels good. 🌊

Strong > skinny. Always.

This isn’t about having the “best body on the beach.” It’s about having a body that still moves, lifts, walks, and feels good long after the trip is over.

Do what makes you happy. Don’t let anyone bully you into thinking there’s only one “right” way to move your body.

What’s your favorite way to move when you don’t have a gym?
