You might have the strength to move the weight… but can you control it? 👀

Very often with shoulder pain, the issue isn’t whether you’re strong enough to press, pull, or lift the weight.

It’s whether you can stabilize and control the movement while doing it.

Strength gets the weight moving. Stability keeps the movement where it needs to be. 💪

Here are a few exercises to help build that control and improve your shoulder’s ability to handle load.

Don’t just move the weight. Own the movement. 🏋️‍♂️

Achilles rehab isn’t just about stretching the calf and hoping the pain goes away. 🦶

The Achilles needs to tolerate load—and that capacity has to be progressively rebuilt.

Whether you’re running, jumping, lifting, or playing a sport, rehab should eventually prepare the tendon for the demands you’re asking it to handle.

These are a few exercises we may use to build calf strength, tendon capacity, and control—not a one-size-fits-all program.

Don’t just make it feel better. Make it stronger. 💪

Shoulder rehab should be more than just basic rotator cuff exercises.

Your shoulder needs to be able to move through space, stabilize under load, and respond quickly to external forces.

Try mixing some of these exercises into your program.

Does your elbow hurt when you row? 🏋️‍♂️

That medial elbow pain you feel during rows may not mean you need to stop pulling.

It can be a sign that your elbow and forearm aren’t currently tolerating the amount of load you’re putting through them.

These are a few exercises we may use—not a one-size-fits-all program.

Don’t just avoid the row. Build the capacity to row. 💪

Patellar tendinopathy is one of the most common knee conditions I see in lifters. 🏋️‍♂️

When it comes to rehab, I’m not just looking at the tendon—I’m looking at the entire system.

Here are 3 exercises I commonly use:

1️⃣ Single-Leg RDL → proximal hip stability + unilateral control
2️⃣ Split Squat Heel Raise → strength + progressive load tolerance
3️⃣ Lateral Heel Tap → unilateral neuromuscular control + knee stability

The goal isn’t just to calm the tendon down. It’s to build the capacity needed to squat, jump, run, and lift without constantly irritating it.

These are examples—not a prescription for every case.

Build stability. Build capacity. Get back to lifting.

Does your shoulder hurt when you bench?

The answer isn’t always “stop benching.”

Often, the shoulder needs better stability, control, and load tolerance to handle the demands of pressing.

Instead of only chasing the pain or stretching the shoulder, we want to identify what’s contributing to it and progressively build the capacity to press again.

Because rehab should prepare you for the movements you actually want to do. 🏋️‍♂️

Build stability. Build capacity. Get back under the bar.

Patellar tendinitis isn’t just an inflamed tendon—it’s often a tendon that’s being asked to do more than it’s currently prepared for.

The solution isn’t simply to stop squatting, jumping, or running.

It’s to progressively build the tendon’s load tolerance while addressing contributing factors like hip strength, ankle mobility, movement mechanics, and overall lower extremity control.

These are a few exercises we may use depending on the individual—not every exercise is right for every knee.

Treat the reason the tendon is overloaded, not just the pain.

“When you think of rehab, what do you picture?” 🤔

Usually, it’s a patient laying on a table doing some isolated exercise for 3 sets of 10.

And that’s where we lose sight of the goal.

Rehab shouldn’t exist in isolation. It should prepare you for what you actually want to do. 🎯

If you’re a lifter, rehab should eventually look like lifting. 🏋️‍♂️

If you’re a baseball player, it should eventually look like throwing and hitting. ⚾

If you’re a runner, it should eventually look like running. 🏃‍♂️

That doesn’t mean we skip the basics. Those exercises have their place.

But we need to progressively bridge the gap between “I can do this exercise” and “I can perform.” 🔥

Because the goal of rehab isn’t just to get out of pain.

The goal is to get you back to doing what you love—and being able to handle it. 💪

If you’ve ever dealt with knee pain when squatting, getting the pain to go away isn’t enough.

Patellar tendinopathy is one of the most common issues I see with knee pain during loaded squats and lunges.

Once the pain settles down, your rehab needs to target 3 pillars:

🏋️ Strength — Can your quads and tendon produce enough force?

⚖️ Balance — Can you control the knee and maintain stability under load?

🎯 Control — Can you control the knee through the positions and ranges you actually use when lifting?

The goal isn’t just to make your knee feel better.

It’s to build a knee that can handle your squat, your lunge, and your training volume without breaking down again.

Pain-free is the starting point. Performance is the goal.

That pain on the inside of your elbow when you grip, pull, or carry? 👀

It may be more than just a “tight” forearm.

Medial epicondylitis is often a load tolerance problem involving the tendons that help with gripping and wrist flexion.

Pull-ups. Rows. Deadlifts. Heavy carries.
If your workload keeps exceeding what the tissue can tolerate, that elbow can stay irritated.

❌ Resting forever isn’t the answer.
❌ Stretching it nonstop isn’t the answer.
✅ Progressively loading it is.

Start by building tolerance with controlled wrist and grip strengthening, then gradually expose the elbow to the movements you actually want to get back to.

Build capacity—not just temporary pain relief.
