💗🐷 A LITTLE KINDNESS. A BIG SURPRISE. A BEAUTIFUL REMINDER. ❤️

Eight of us from Parkside Senior Living of Ellijay headed to The Pink Pig for lunch, good food, and time together. We left with a story that reminded us just how powerful a simple act of kindness can be. 🥹

During lunch, we struck up a conversation with a young family visiting from Florida. We shared a few laughs, told them about Parkside, and even invited them to our upcoming Trunk or Treat! 🎃

After they left, our server shared some unexpected news: the family had quietly paid for lunch for all eight of us! ❤️

But the kindness didn't stop there.

When our residents learned the bill had been taken care of, their next concern was making sure the four members of the serving team received a tip for their wonderful service. One resident, in particular, made it a priority to see that all four team members were shown gratitude for taking such good care of us. 🥹👏

A family showed kindness to our group, and our residents made sure that kindness extended to the people who had served us.

That is the beauty of moments like these. Kindness has a way of spreading, and sometimes the most meaningful part of an outing has nothing to do with what's on the menu. ❤️

To the sweet family who treated us to lunch, and to the wonderful team at The Pink Pig, thank you for making this day so special! 💗🐷

🫘🔨 GOING ONCE… GOING TWICE… SOLD! 🎉
Well, Parkside, I think we've found ourselves a new favorite! 😂💙💛
Our Butterbean Auction brought plenty of laughter, friendly competition, and some serious bidding! The best part? The excitement didn't end when the auction was over. Residents were still buzzing about it DAYS later! ❤️
A special shout-out to Ms. Debbie with Seasons Care Hospice for capturing the fun through photos and videos and for contributing the coveted Seasons Care Hospice teddy bear! 🧸 That little bear stole the show, ultimately selling for 25 beans! 🤣 Clearly, we've discovered a hot-ticket auction item, and we'll be sure to have another one available at future auctions!
From the variety of treasures up for grabs to the lively conversations and unexpected favorites, this is exactly what meaningful Life Enrichment is all about: creating experiences that bring people together and give them something to look forward to.
THE VERDICT? THE BUTTERBEAN AUCTION IS BACK—TWICE A MONTH! 🫘🎉
Because when residents are still talking about an activity days later, you know you've created something special!

🎃🥨 A LITTLE MIXING, A LITTLE MAGIC, AND A WHOLE LOT OF FUN! 👻
Who says Halloween treats can't be a little sweet, a little salty, and a little healthy? 😉 Our residents created their own Halloween trail mix with pretzels, mini M&M’s, marshmallows, candy corn, and a colorful variety of dried and freeze-dried fruits! 🍓🍬 Everyone made a bag to take back to their room and enjoy later!
But the Halloween magic didn't stop at the activity table! 🧙‍♀️✨ We loaded up our Parkside Pitstop Snack Mobile, turned on the tunes, and went room to room delivering treats and mixing up our sparkling blue Witch’s Brew with Hawaiian Punch, pineapple juice, and edible glitter—right before our residents' eyes! 💙🪄
❤️ Because person-centered engagement means meeting people where they are. Whether joining us for a group activity or enjoying a little surprise at their door, every resident deserves moments of joy, connection, and inclusion.

🍓🧹 A LITTLE MAGIC, A LOT OF MESS, AND PLENTY OF LAUGHTER! 🧙‍♀️✨

Today, we turned chocolate-covered strawberries into witches’ brooms! 🍓🧹 We thought the TikTok tutorial made it look easy… but let’s just say the actual broom construction was a little trickier than the video led us to believe! 😂

But that’s the magic of Snacktivity! ❤️ We rolled up our sleeves, got our hands messy, shared some laughs, and enjoyed every minute of creating (and snacking on!) our spooky little treats.

Because at Parkside Senior Living, it’s not about perfection—it’s about participation, connection, and enjoying every minute! 💙💛

❤️ And just like that, we bring our Starr Ranch story to a close.

Some experiences remind us why the little things we do for one another can mean so much.

Edwin Countryman and his Starr Ranch entourage brought a truly special experience to Parkside Senior Living at Ellijay, and we’re grateful for the care, time, and heart that went into making it possible.

It was a pleasure to welcome them into our community and share these moments with our residents.

Edwin, thank you for what you do and for allowing Parkside to be part of it. We’re so glad our paths crossed. ❤️🐾

❤️ What if the joy could come right to you?

When we told our residents that the animals from Starr Ranch were coming inside Parkside Senior Living at Ellijay , some could hardly believe it!

But Edwin Countryman didn't just bring the animals to our community. He brought the experience directly to our residents.

Through our hallways, into our shared spaces, right to their doorsteps, and right to their bedsides. 🐾

Because not everyone can join an outing. Not everyone feels comfortable leaving their room. And no one should have to miss out on a meaningful moment simply because they cannot come to it.

This is what life enrichment is truly about: meeting people where they are, honoring their individual needs, and finding ways to make sure they feel included, remembered, and connected.

Sometimes, the greatest gift isn't the activity itself. It's the thoughtfulness of making sure everyone has an opportunity to experience it.

Our heartfelt thanks to Edwin Countryman and Starr Ranch for bringing the animals, the surprises, and the joy directly to our Parkside family. ❤️

And the adventure? Well… it even included an elevator ride! 🛗🐴

🐴🐾 A GIFT OF JOY, CONNECTION & PURPOSE! 💙💛

Parkside Senior Living at Ellijay was blessed with an unforgettable visit from Edwin Countryman of Starr Ranch , who brought Hopi the miniature Shetland pony, Ryder the Border Collie, and Cowboy Jessie the Cowboy Corgi to share some very special moments with our residents!

Starr Ranch is a nonprofit animal rescue founded by Edwin, dedicated to caring for animals and sharing the healing power of the human-animal bond through visits to senior living communities, schools, hospitals, and families in need of a little extra joy. ❤️

This incredible visit was a gift from a nonprofit organization, and it was the perfect way to close out Animal Awareness Week! Our residents were absolutely amazed by these special guests, and the smiles, laughter, and connections made memories that will stay with us long after the visit.

Edwin, thank you for sharing your heart, your animals, and your mission with our Parkside family. Your kindness reminds us that sometimes the greatest gifts come with four legs, a wagging tail, or a gentle nuzzle. 🐾💙

We’re so excited to welcome Edwin Countryman of Starr Ranch to Parkside tomorrow at 1:30 PM for a very special Pet Therapy Visit! 🐴🐶

Our residents are getting ready for an afternoon filled with furry friends, smiles, connection and a little extra JOY! 🥰

Starr Ranch’s wonderful therapy animals — including mini therapy horses and therapy dogs — will be joining us for this special Life Enrichment experience.

🐾 Families, friends and our Parkside community partners are welcome to join us and experience the joy alongside our residents.
