ECMC’s medication disposal receptacle is available 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 and is open to anyone in our community.

You can safely dispose of:
✔️ Prescription medications, including most controlled medications
✔️ Over-the-counter medications
✔️ Pet medications

📍 Look for the bright green receptacle along the wall of the hospital nurses station.

Proper medication disposal helps keep unused medications out of the wrong hands and provides a safer alternative to throwing them away or flushing them into our water system.

National Prescription Drug Take Back Days happen each Spring and Fall. While today's national campaign is a great reminder to check your medicine cabinet, safe disposal is available right here at ECMC all year long. 💚

ECMC now brings two orthopedic specialty clinics to Ellsworth:

2nd & 4th Fridays each month

🔹 Dr. Kevin Klug | Salina Regional Orthopedics & Sports Medicine
2nd Tuesday each month

And orthopedic care is only part of the picture. ECMC also offers bone density testing and Rehabilitation Services, giving patients access to more of the care they may need without traveling farther from home. 🙌

Start with your primary care provider for routine wellness and prevention. And when specialized bone or joint care is needed, we’ve got you covered. 💚

Hospital pharmacy reaches much farther than many patients ever see.

As ECMC’s Director of Pharmacy, Angela Broaderway, PharmD, plays an important role in medication safety throughout our organization.

Her work includes helping oversee safe medication use, drug inventory and compliance, while supporting efforts like antibiotic stewardship — work that touches departments across the hospital and helps our care teams make safe, informed decisions for our patients.🌟

Much of that work happens outside the public eye.

Its impact does not.

During National Pharmacy Week and American Pharmacists Month, we wish to express our gratitude for Angela’s expertise, leadership and the care she brings to ECMC.

📣 We also want to recognize two important community partners — F&M Drug and Seitz Drug. Their teams provide trusted pharmacy care locally and are valued partners in supporting the health of the communities we share.

From hospital pharmacy to community pharmacy, strong partnerships help keep quality care close to home. 💚

We were glad to host the Kansas Hospital Association’s North Central District meeting at ECMC! 💚

Bringing hospital leaders together to share ideas, discuss challenges and learn from one another helps strengthen healthcare across our region — and we’re always happy to provide a place for those conversations.

KHA District Meetings continue into this week with the North Central meeting hosted at the Ellsworth County Medical Center. We are very grateful to all the hospitals that offer to host these twice-yearly meetings. We love being able to bring people together to brainstorm and share solutions to challenges that affect hospitals and health care within a hospital setting!

Kansas research has shown that women who stay up to date with mammography are more likely to have breast cancer found earlier — and with smaller tumors at diagnosis. That’s why early detection matters.

That’s just one reason we’re proud to offer a luxury digital mammography right here at ECMC — making this important screening available close to home.

During Breast Cancer Awareness Month, one of the most important reminders we can share is also one of the simplest: don’t put off your mammogram. 🗓️

There’s something special about the ECMC cafeteria — and the team behind the meals is a big reason why.

📸 Pictured are some of our usual Friday crew, but there are several more teammates who help keep the kitchen running throughout the week — and we’re grateful for every one of them.

Our Food Service team does more than prepare great meals. They have a way of making patients, staff and community members feel genuinely welcome — and like it’s truly a pleasure to serve them. Whether it’s breakfast, lunch or a patient meal, they bring plenty of personality, laughter and heart to everything they do.

And yes… the food really is that good. 😋

Our cafeteria is open to the public Monday through Friday:

And this week, we’re celebrating an important part of ours — our Physician Assistants!

Shawn McGowan, Kamryn Villa and Ryan Lahey help provide care for patients throughout our communities, from everyday illnesses and preventive care to follow-ups and ongoing health needs.

As part of National PA Week, Shawn and Kamryn were surprised with a little appreciation gift — new digital stethoscopes! Ryan is enjoying some well-earned vacation time this week, so his will be waiting for him when he gets back. 😊
In rural healthcare, having skilled providers close to home makes a difference. It means familiar faces, trusted relationships and more access to care right here in our communities.
