May is National Speech, Language, and Hearing Month – a time to not only raise awareness about communication disorders, but to celebrate the incredible work of speech-language pathologists (SLPs). We are so incredibly grateful for all of our talented SLPs at Northern Light Health!
At Maine Coast Hospital, we are celebrating Amy Kennedy and Jalisa Patten.
Speech and language are central to human experience. The ability to communicate lets people convey needs, develop relationships, express their personality, and engage in a healthy quality of life. When any of these areas are affected, an SLP provides clinical assessment and treatment to help patients develop, restore, or optimize communication and swallowing function.
Thank you to all of our SLPs across the state for their compassion, dedication, and commitment to their patients, as they work to make their lives better every day.
