Every session of our art class in Derby wraps up with something special.

๐Ÿ–ผ๏ธ๐ŸŽจ๐Ÿ–Œ๏ธ An Art Critique night ๐Ÿ–ผ๏ธ๐ŸŽจ๐Ÿ–Œ๏ธ

For weeks, our artists create, experiment, and pour themselves into their work. On critique night, they get to display their pieces and share what their art means to them.

Local guest artists are even kind enough to join us to offer encouragement and thoughtful feedback.

This session's Art Critique is June 11 from 3:30โ€“7:00 PM at Derby Day Hab, 7030 Erie Road. Families and Care Coordinators, we'd love to have you there to cheer on our artists!

If you are coming to support someone special, please contact their house for specific times.

Jeff Paterson here ๐Ÿ‘‹ Iโ€™m breaking my no hat rule thanks to a dare from legendary self-advocate and friend BJ Stasio ๐Ÿ—๐ŸŽฉ

On that note, please join us in welcoming Donte Lindsay who is stepping into the newly created role of Advocate Support Specialist here at sasi!

Heโ€™ll be working alongside people with developmental disabilities through advocacy, mentoring, training, and helping them build confidence in speaking up and getting involved in their communities.

Weโ€™re excited to have Donte on board and canโ€™t wait to see the impact heโ€™ll make.

Welcome to the team, Donte! ๐Ÿ‘

Last Friday, we gathered to celebrate the people who make everything we do possible, our Direct Support Professionals!

More than 20 DSPs received their Microcredential certificates at our DSP Recognition Celebration, a morning dedicated to honoring their commitment to professional growth and the people they support every day.

Maria Torgalski from the New York State Office for People With Developmental Disabilities joined us to offer remarks and present certificates alongside our President & CEO Jeff Paterson and Board Chair Mike O'Connor.

We also heard from Donte Lindsay, our new Advocacy Support Specialist, on the importance of advancing self-advocacy, and Meg Healy, Director of Professional Development, who highlighted the learning and development programs fueling growth across sasi.

Our Director of Education and Training, Leadlay Ogden, also facilitated a great discussion where graduates shared key takeaways.

Please join us in congratulating all of our graduates! Sasi is stronger because of you ๐Ÿ‘
