Most people have someone in their life who has been affected by a stroke.
A parent. A grandparent. A coworker. A neighbor. Someone who collapsed and the people around them did not know what to do or did not recognize the signs in time.
World Stroke Day is October 29.
And the most important thing you can do today is learn four letters.
F — Face drooping on one side when they smile.
A — Arm drifts down when they raise both.
S — Speech sounds slurred or does not make sense.
T — Time. Call 911 right now. Do not wait.
You do not need to be a nurse to recognize a stroke. You just need to know what to look for.
