The Red Phoenix - Feng Shui; Aromatherapy, Cooking Through the Seasons Feng Shui, Aromatherapy, Cooking Through the Seasons It promises us Health, Happiness and Prosperity. I am a trained Certified Aromatherapist.

I am a Feng Shui Practitioner trained in both Classical Feng Shui (Form School and Compass School) as well as Contemporary Feng Shui (Black Sect Esoteric Buddhist School of Feng Shui). Feng Shui can help us balance the negative energies in our lives and bring us back into alignment with the forces that be. My diploma is from the American College of Healthcare Sciences and I continue to study towar

d becoming a Clinical Aromatherapist via Aromahead Institute, the Robert Tisserand Institute and East West School of Aromatic Studies. Aromatherapy can help heal our bodies and our emotions (inside and out). We can use it aromatically via a diffuser or spray, topically as a cream, salve or spray, and also internally (with guidance and caution). Another passion of mine is Cooking Through the Seasons! I have been known to spend an entire day with my daughters and friends, cooking, baking and of course, sampling the products of the day! I love to entertain and spend time with family and friends. My favorite times are when I look around the room or patio and see my family and friends smiling, laughing and talking. My philosophy is Life is Short so I plan to enjoy as much of life as I can. I really believe that even folding the laundry, doing dishes and taking out the trash should be enjoyable. We need to Enjoy the Everyday!

What does accountability really look like when you're trying to lose weight?

For me, it means tracking, checking in, making healthy choices—and being honest with myself when I don't.

Last week, I gained 2.8 pounds. This week, I regrouped, planned my meals, prepared my food, and got back to tracking.

Accountability isn't about being perfect. It's about owning our choices and making the next one a little better.

I've written about what Weight Loss Accountability looks like in my own journey. ❤️

New Blog Post! 🌿

What weight-loss journals and apps do I actually use every day?

Not dozens of fancy tools—just a few simple ones that help me stay aware, plan ahead, and keep myself accountable.

In my newest Weight Loss Journey post, I’m sharing my favorite paper journals, digital apps, recipe websites, and even how I track my daily plants. 🌱

And since we’re still celebrating the harvest season, I’m also talking about what I’ve gained—not just what I’ve lost.

Come take a peek at what works for me!

🌾 Celebrating Lammas Through My Weight Loss Journey 🍅

August is my month for celebrating Lammas—the first harvest. But this year, I'm thinking about more than the tomatoes and herbs coming out of my garden.

I'm thinking about what I'm harvesting in my own life: new knowledge, healthy habits, progress, and the courage to keep beginning again.

In my newest blog post, I share how Lammas, seasonal food, aromatherapy, my studies, and my continuing weight loss journey have all come together for me this August.

And yes…those beautiful heirloom and cherry tomatoes in the photo ended up in spaghetti sauce! ❤️

🌾 What are YOU harvesting this season?

Weight loss isn't just about counting calories or watching the number on the scale. It's about learning how to navigate difficult seasons without asking food to solve problems it was never meant to solve. Life will always bring stress. My challenge these past couple of weeks and my opportunity is to build the kind of restraint that allows me to respond thoughtfully instead of react emotionally. That's the real work. And perhaps that's the lesson I needed to learn this week.

Forest fires, family responsibilities, and a busy summer pushed me toward emotional eating during stress. Here's what I learned.

Dare I?

Today I'm doing something that feels a little scary...I'm sharing the beginning of my weight loss journey.

This isn't a blog about perfection or quick fixes. It's about real life—the ups and downs, the lessons I'm learning, and the small, everyday choices that help me move toward better health.

If you've ever started over, struggled, or wondered if lasting change was possible, I hope you'll join me.

I'd love for you to read my very first post and, if you'd like, share your own journey in the comments. We just might encourage one another along the way. 💛

Follow my weight loss journey as I share honest successes, setbacks, food journaling, and the small choices that lead to lasting change.

This week's Sunday Sauce is a Thai Chicken Salad with Light Peanut-Lime Dressing. I would like it if ALL my girls could come for Sunday dinner, but this week, it was only Emily who made it. (It helps that she only lives 8 minutes away. -- LOL)

🌸🔥 Happy Beltane 🔥🌸

Beltane, celebrated on May 1st, marks the peak of spring and the beginning of summer’s fertile energy. It’s a time of blossoming, passion, creativity, and celebrating life in full bloom. Traditionally, fires were lit to honor vitality, protection, and transformation—making this a beautiful moment to welcome fresh energy into your life.

🌿 Aromatherapy Diffuser Blend (Spring Awakening):

3 drops Sweet Orange 🍊 (uplifting, joyful energy)
2 drops Lavender 💜 (calming, balance)
2 drops Ylang Ylang 🌼 (opens the heart, emotional harmony)

This blend supports emotional balance, releases tension, and invites a soft, heart-centered calm.

🏡 Spring Feng Shui Tip:
Open your windows and let fresh air circulate through your home. This simple act refreshes stagnant energy (chi), invites new opportunities, and aligns your space with the vibrant growth of the season.

Wishing you a joyful, blooming Beltane filled with light, love, and renewal 🌿✨
