It’s a whole new science full of nuance and personal discussion. Grateful for women physicians leading the charge in longevity and purpose as we learn how to provide effective and safe options for women. It is definitely NOT one size fits all!

Perimenopause and menopause is a fascinating field to watch right now. The best thing I see coming out of the recent changes is a push towards understanding personal risks with a nuanced conversation using science to guide you. This is a HUGE step in the right direction away from one size fits all medicine.

The human body is so cool - we are all fearfully and wonderfully made but we are NOT all made exactly the same and your medical care should recognize that

For the science minded the link that this slide came from is in the comments. Fascinating conversations happening!

Reflecting on my health journey over the past few years has caused me to reevaluate my thoughts on success, life, and its inherent meaning.

This podcast facilitated a thought-provoking discussion. The book 'The Meaning of Your Life' offers explanations rooted in neuroscience regarding happiness and also provides practical advice on discovering and living in alignment with one's purpose.

It is an investment of time that is well worth it.

A discussion I’ve been having with my teenage son -

Dopamine matters because it’s one of the brain’s key control signals for motivation, movement, learning, and even physical function. It’s not just about feeling good—it’s about helping your body decide what’s worth doing and giving you the drive to do it.

I LOVE how the body was created and the way it has what we need when we learn how to unlock its potential. See the comment for some lifestyle habits to help you naturally balance your dopamine

This caught my attention today. In a quickly changing healthcare landscape it’s always about what’s right for the patient and as I like to tell my patients - your chemistry isn’t exactly like my chemistry. It’s never one size fits all :
Curiosity matters. Research matters. Responsible care matters!

If you like the science side (obviously I do 😉) interesting read on how previous HRT studies were interpreted and some of the newer science related to hormone replacement and breast cancer specifically

Ultimately hormone replacement therapy needs to be a 1:1 conversation between the patient and a physician who is educated on the emerging science and risks / benefits…. My favorite kind of conversation to have with my patients!
