A grocery bag on the kitchen counter can tell more truth than we think.
Greens. Yogurt. Bread. Olive oil. Maybe an antacid sitting nearby because the stomach has started giving opinions it never used to give.
As we age, the gut is not just handling dinner. It is part of a larger conversation with the brain, the immune system, metabolism, stress, sleep, and energy. We feel that conversation when grief lands in the belly, when stress steals appetite, when poor sleep changes cravings, or when one rushed meal seems to throw the whole afternoon off.
This is not about hype. A probiotic will not make us ageless. A perfect diet will not spare us every trouble.
But stewardship matters.
Whole food. Fiber. Protein. Movement. Sleep. Paying attention. Asking why the body feels foggy, bloated, restless, or steady after certain choices.
Longevity is not just more birthdays. It is staying clear enough, strong enough, and present enough to keep showing up.
