Here’s how 12 weeks of intentional movement during the Balanced Movement Collective actually builds.

Month 1: Connect.
Breath work, body awareness, posture, core. The foundation everything else is built on. In our weekly virtual meetings, I layer in the education and connection piece and you get to ask questions.

Month 2: Build
Expand range and full body mobility. We add standing work, hip rotation, squat prep. This is mastery through repetition, so movement starts to feel automatic. From the foundations comes the essential functional movement patterns.

Month 3: Integrate
Mobility becomes flow. Yoga sequencing, dynamic walking, functional movement that transfers into the activities you love and preps you for lifting heavier loads.

You get:
* Curated sequences 4 days a week through the EverFit app
* Weekly virtual group sessions with me where we cover the education behind what you’re doing and talk through modifications and real-life applications
* Three guest speaker sessions where more expertise gets shared

One program. One clear progression. With support the whole way through.

Founding cohort begins September 21. Click the link in bio to get first dibs 🔗

Whether I’m working with someone who just got a new hip or someone who has been managing low back pain for years, I always start in the same place.

A full body movement restoration.

Not because something is wrong, but because that foundation is what makes everything else work. Breath awareness. Body connection. Core activation. Understanding how your joints coordinate under load. When we build from there, everything you do after, strength training, yoga, hiking, getting up off the floor, is safer, more effective, and more sustainable.

The Balanced Movement Collective is that starting point, brought to you virtually. 12 weeks of education, movement training and community. Led by me, a Doctor of Physical Therapy and yoga instructor with 15 years of clinical experience.

The founding cohort for the virtual Balanced Movement Collective is starting this September. Limited to 20 seats. Link in bio to join the waitlist and be the first to grab your spot!

Some people love Christmas and I just really love summer ☀️ 🌊 🏖️ 🍉

My first surfboard here was a surprise birthday gift from my parents and curated with the help of Leslie Chaloux (Cruz) and Surfy Surfy in Leucadia CA 13 years ago. It was one of those very unexpected and epic surprises you never see coming. It’s been used the most in Cardiff - lots of fun sessions with friends. I remember having to hop the fence at the campgrounds behind the kook with it after sunset sessions to walk back home many times. So many amazing memories.

Today was the first taking it out in New Hampshire. I never thought I would be surfing on the east coast but here we are onto the next chapter of waves and shenanigans in New England 😎❤️

I’m so excited to announce that in August I’m hosting my first workshop .yoga - my favorite yoga studio and community in Portsmouth!

I made this workshop for anyone who wants to learn how to create more flexibility and strength in your hips to relieve or prevent knee pain!

If you’ve ramped up your activity this summer and out of nowhere pain shows up, I get it. I know what it’s like to feel great and then out of nowhere pain arrives, stops you in your tracks and you’re left wondering what is safe to do anymore.

I want to help you understand what’s actually going on and give you the tools to stay active while you heal. Good news is that there is so much you can still do that will keep you strong without disrupting your body’s healing.

If you want answers on how to heal your knee pain or if you just want to learn how to take care of your hips and knees for your future.

🗓️August 8th

No yoga experience necessary, just bring an open mind and be ready to move ☺️

I used to be super planned out. And in many ways I still am, but hear me out.

I thought planning was the only way to be. The only way things could get executed, everything would run smoothly, I could appear responsible and “together” etc etc.

The first years of teaching yoga, I planned every single class I taught. Notebooks upon notebooks of new yoga flows I would use once. Then the one day I said to myself - new challenge, no more planning classes for the next month. So I just taught to the people in front of me and with whatever the energy with in myself and the room wanted to reveal that day. The classes were so so so much better 🙌

Today, as I was driving from house to house seeing clients, I realized that I still need to rely on GPS a lot and the service in Rye NH is almost non existent. I also realized that I have no idea what beach traffic in this area on a holiday week is like. In other words, things may not go according to plan.

Being a mobile PT and moving 3 locations (across the country) in 5 years has come with many unknowns.

But now, what I do know, is what came up for me today and that was the thought “I’m just getting really good at living in the moment.”

Also, I know that I can trust myself to figure it out and that this country 🇺🇸 is filled with amazing people that are more than willing to help out and be gracious to the new girl in town :)

My challenge to you is to join me and live in the moment more. Have you ever asked a 6 year old what they think about something happening a week from today and got a blank stare?

That’s bc kids live in the moment and it’s really such a great place to be ☀️🫶

Hire it out.

This morning I had coffee with a Fractional CFO. We connected on how similar our work is — we both spend our days helping people with the things that don’t come naturally to them. For him, financial strategy. For me, how to move your body without breaking it down.

It reminded me of something my dad told me in my 20s. I was complaining about taxes — the anxiety, the overwhelm, dreading it every single year.

He said:
“Katie, you spent years becoming exceptional at your skill. Other people did the same for theirs. Hire an accountant.”

That stuck with me.

Because people come to me all the time saying “the exercises I’m finding on YouTube just aren’t helping.” And I get it — you’re trying.

But what if you got back all that time, energy, and frustration just by hiring someone who already has the answers?

I’m here to help you feel better and get back to doing the things you love without pain.

Hire a Physical Therapist. We got you 😀

I’m turning 43 today. In the past I’ve shied away from posting my age. People always tell me I don’t look it, so I figured I might as well keep ‘em guessing 😉 And who wants to open the door to conversations about stiff joints, perimenopause, and arthritis? No thanks.

This year I’m celebrating 43 because this is what a healthy, movement-focused, balanced, purposeful life actually looks like, with all of those very real biological realities included. I’d say I try to practice what I preach, but honestly? This is just who I am. And I think the way I live my life and the work I do can simply inspire people that it’s possible.

There are ways I thought my life would look different at 43, and there are ways it looks exactly how I always hoped it would and worked toward. For those of you who have been following for a while, I now live in Kittery Maine in a cute little apartment with a killer front porch and walking distance to the ocean, coffee shops and restaurants in Kittery and Portsmouth NH. Balanced by Katie is 9.5 years old and still going very strong and evolving with me.

What I’ve learned to soften into, year after year, is that we’re not in full control of how life plays out. The best we can do is make the most of what we’ve got while keeping our sights on living into our potential. And having fun along the way!

Cheers to 43, and to everyone who has been part of my story so far. I’m not sure what the next 50 years have in store, but I’m so excited to find out! 🙌✨🌊

I found a journal entry that sums it up pretty well ✨

8/27/25
“New England. A place that could feel like home. I feel supported and inspired on this trip. My friends here see me and appreciate me. I feel a sense of aliveness at the ocean and in awe of the ships, the land, and the old buildings with strong community. Like La Jolla, it’s older traditions, grounding energy, interesting people that want to have the means to enjoy life. People are a little more edgy and direct. The air is cool and crisp. The people seek to be in nature. I am here at the best weather time so this air will get cooler and winter will be dark. Today is the presentation and I feel mainly ready. I’ve studied and rehearsed it a lot. I hope to get good questions and have people feel good about the next chapters of their life and in the drivers seat.”

We spent Saturday morning of this snowy weekend in New Castle by dialing up our “Core Confidence”

Workshop #2 of our Movement Longevity Lab Series❄️💪

Together, we explored the main causes of low back strain and stress—and learned practical techniques to manage and prevent it.

We covered:
* The muscles that make up the core
* How to find a neutral posture and stack ribcage over pelvis in all positions
* How to use 360° breath to create an efficient intra-abdominal pressure system
* How to lift with biomechanics that reduce strain on the spine

I deeply value sharing my expertise in a way that truly impacts how active people access movement health and freedom. This is what movement longevity is all about—building a body that lets you do what you love for as long as you want… and feel good while doing it.

This community’s commitment to learning, even on the coldest days, is inspiring. Here’s to moving well for life. 💙

My cold plunging crew in Ohio put together a special going away gathering the day before I left. We all made vision boards which is something I love and had not done in a few years.

This is what came from the question “what’s possible in 2026?”

And I love it ❤️✨ 🌊
