🦴 Your bones could be at risk if your estrogen is low from menopause, perimenopause, or hypothalamic amenorrhea.

Even just 6 months of lower estrogen can increase the risk of bone density loss, leading to osteopenia or osteoporosis.

The best way to be proactive about your bone health is to test.

I recommend the average woman get a DXA scan in her 40s to understand her bone density when there’s still time to do something about it.

And blood testing for hormone levels, vitamin D, calcium, and magnesium all help you understand if your bones have the right ingredients and inputs.

By the time most women get their first DEXA scan at 65, they've already lost up to 20% of their bone density.

Cindy Dupuis explains that women can lose the most bone within the first 10 years of menopause, yet most aren't tested until decades into that decline. The good news? You can advocate for an earlier scan, and there is so much you can do in your 20s, 30s, and 40s to protect your bones for life.

Seed oils cause inflammation in several ways.

In this week’s episode of Modern Women’s Wellness Podcast, explains that the extreme heat processing (around 500°F) breaks the fragile double bonds in these oils, creating toxic byproducts like aldehydes and lipid peroxides.

Add to that a severely imbalanced omega-6 to omega-3 ratio — most Americans sit at 20:1 instead of the ideal 1:1 to 4:1 — and you have a recipe for chronic inflammation at the root of nearly every major health condition.

About 30% of women experience some degree of postpartum depression in the year after birth.

What if we could lower that with proper nutrition and supplement guidance?

Dr. Kate Hom shares how depleted omega-3s and vitamin D are directly connected to mood, serotonin production, and mental health postpartum — and how something as simple as supplementing these could make a dramatic difference.
