👟❤️ THE SHOE LADY’S CHAOTIC MOTHERHOOD COMEBACK — 2026

When I decided to bring the Optimal Health Solutions Educational Shoe Drive back after taking a motherhood hiatus, I knew this year would be different.

What I didn’t know was just how much our community would show up.

We had an incredibly short turnaround to find sponsors, connect with families, organize shoes, and somehow pull this little comeback together. And—as life tends to remind me—our original plan did not exactly go according to plan. 😂

So we adapted.

After our first distribution day on August 29, we shifted to a voucher system and began working directly with community organizations to connect the sneakers we had funded with the children who needed them.

And that pivot has been beautiful.

Between our distribution days on 8/29 and 9/4, 25 children have now gone home with brand-new, properly fitted sneakers. 👟🥹

Even more incredible: our community has currently sponsored 48 children.

Forty-eight.

What started as a very quick, slightly chaotic soft relaunch has become something much bigger because other people believed in the mission enough to help carry it.

I cannot adequately thank ERfC, Enfield Social Services, KITE, Grandparents Raising Grandchildren, our sponsors, volunteers, families, and every single person who donated, shared a post, made a connection, helped entertain kiddos, moved boxes, or simply said, “How can I help?”

And we’re not finished yet. ❤️

LJ from Social Services is now helping coordinate an additional sneaker-fitting opportunity for Spanish-speaking families in our community. Date: TBD—because apparently TBD is becoming a recurring theme around here. 😂

This was always intended to be a small comeback year after becoming a mom.

Instead, it has reminded me exactly why I started this initiative.

A sneaker is the tangible gift. But the mission has always been bigger: proper fit, education, healthy movement, access, dignity, and community. Continued in comments…

👟 ENFIELD FAMILIES — FREE NEW SNEAKERS FOR LOCAL KIDS TODAY! 👟

We are here and ready to fit some kiddos! ❤️

The Optimal Health Solutions Educational Shoe Drive is happening TODAY, Saturday, August 29 from 12–3 PM in Enfield.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, we have funding available to provide brand-new, properly fitted New Balance sneakers at NO COST to local elementary and middle school children who could use a new pair. 👟

There is no cost to families. Our goal is simple: help local children start the school year with comfortable, properly fitting sneakers so they can move, play, learn, and participate with confidence.

Sometimes the warning sign isn’t that you need to stop.
It’s that you need to change your pace. ❤️

This week has been full—in the most beautiful way.

Relaunching the OHS Educational Shoe Drive has meant conversations, fundraising, community partnerships, planning, excitement, and a whole lot of “just one more thing…” 👟🥹

And while my heart has had plenty of fuel, I’ve been reminded that enthusiasm does not make the nervous system exempt from needing recovery.

I know what happens when I ignore the whispers.

Fatigue becomes irritability.
Mental overload affects sleep.
Muscle tension builds.
Digestion can change.
Patience gets shorter.
And eventually one depleted system begins affecting another.

That’s the domino effect I’m learning to interrupt earlier.

So alongside all of the beautiful momentum this week, there has intentionally been space for recharging too—movement, Jiu Jitsu, sauna, diaphragmatic breathing, laughter, nourishing meals, quiet moments, time outdoors, and simply recognizing when my body is asking me to slow the pace.

That is part of health too.

Pacing doesn’t mean abandoning the things that light you up. It means creating enough recovery around them that you can continue showing up without repeatedly borrowing energy from tomorrow.

Burnout rarely begins with a dramatic crash.

Often, it begins with little whispers from the body that we keep promising we’ll address after this next thing.

Pay attention to the whispers. 🤍

Rest before exhaustion requires it.
Regulate before overwhelm demands it.
Protect some empty space in your life.

Because sustainable health isn’t about how much you can push through.

It’s about learning how to keep showing up without losing yourself in the process.

Pacing is self-respect. 🌿

When our community shows up for one another, everybody wins. ❤️

This Thursday, August 27th, Optimal Health Solutions is proud to support the Kiwanis Foundation of Greater Enfield for their Red Robin Fundraiser Night! 🍔🤝

Kiwanis continually pours time, resources, and heart back into our local community—especially our children—and this is an easy (and delicious 😋) opportunity for us to return some of that love.

Visit Red Robin at 15 Hazard Ave in Enfield on Thursday and 20% of eligible food sales will be donated back to the Kiwanis Foundation of Greater Enfield.

Your nervous system is always listening. 🤍

It listens to the pace you keep.
The way you breathe.
The environments you spend time in.
The people you surround yourself with.
The amount of rest you allow yourself to receive.

And sometimes, the most productive thing you can do for your health is create enough safety for your body to soften.

This week has been a beautiful reminder that regulation doesn’t have to be complicated.

🌿 Breathe deeply.
🌿 Move your body.
🌿 Get outside.
🌿 Laugh—the deep belly kind.
🌿 Connect with good humans.
🌿 Rest when your body asks for it.
🌿 Make room for both joy and difficult emotions.

Health isn’t created by perfectly controlling every variable.

It’s built through the small choices we practice repeatedly—especially during the seasons that ask more of us.

At Optimal Health, we believe wellness extends far beyond muscles and joints. We’re interested in the whole human: movement, breath, nervous system, environment, connection, and the ability to move through life with greater resilience.

👟 THE EDUCATIONAL SHOE DRIVE IS BACK! 👟

After a little hiatus, I am so excited to officially announce the 2026 soft comeback of the Optimal Health Solutions Educational Shoe Drive! 💙

This initiative began in 2022 with a simple mission: give local children access to brand-new, properly fitted sneakers while giving families education about footwear, movement, and healthy development.

In 2022, we helped 44 children through Enfield Loaves & Fishes.

In 2023, our community more than doubled that impact, helping 86 children right here at the OHS storefront.

Then, in December 2023, I became a mom. ❤️ I took a motherhood hiatus from the Shoe Drive while life entered a very different—and beautiful—season.

Now, The Shoe Lady is back. 😂👟

We’re keeping 2026 intentionally simple: a soft comeback to reconnect with our community, help as many local children as we can, and start building momentum for an even greater 2027 Educational Shoe Drive.

🎯 Our goal: $2,500
👟 $65 = one brand-new pair of properly fitted sneakers
💙 Goal impact: approximately 38 local children

And as always, education is part of the gift.

This isn’t simply about giving away shoes. OHS will provide families with education to help them better understand proper footwear, fit, movement, and why those choices matter for growing bodies.

We have only a few days to see what kind of magic our community can create. 🤩

Whether you sponsor an entire pair, contribute toward one, or simply share this fundraiser with your own village, every bit of support helps.

We helped 130 children during our first two years.

Now it’s time to take the first step into the next chapter. ❤️

Optimal health isn’t something you arrive at. It’s something you practice. 💙

We often think healing begins when we finally have enough time, enough energy, the perfect routine, or all the answers.

But health is built much more quietly than that.

It’s the walk you take when twenty minutes is all you have.
The breath you slow when your body feels overwhelmed.
The boundary you honor even when it’s uncomfortable.
The rest you allow without convincing yourself you have to earn it.
The way you speak to yourself when progress isn’t happening as quickly as you hoped.

Small choices become patterns.
Patterns become habits.
And over time, those habits shape how we move, feel, heal, and live.

At Optimal Health Solutions, I don’t believe wellness should be something we simply preach to others. It should be something we continually practice ourselves.

Not perfectly.
Consistently.
Curiously.
With patience.

Your body doesn’t need perfection from you.

It needs partnership.

A milestone I never took the time to celebrate. 💙

Earlier this year, I had the honor of being featured in Top 10 Trailblazing Entrepreneurs to Follow in 2026.

Life moved quickly afterward, and I never took the time to share this moment here.

Optimal Health Solutions was built from a belief that healthcare can feel different—that movement, education, individualized care, and genuine human connection can help people better understand and trust their bodies.

Building something different requires patience. It requires being willing to challenge conventional thinking, continue learning, and keep showing up even when life asks you to slow down.

So today, I’m simply taking a moment to celebrate how far this little vision has come.
