Common causes:
1. Herniated or bulging discs
2. Muscle strain or ligament sprain
3. Sciatica (nerve compression)
4. Facet or SI joint dysfunction
5. Accidents or workplace injuries

Pain lasting longer than 1-2 weeks, pain radiating down the leg, numbness or weakness deserve a specialist evaluation.
