When Vivian experienced a premature rupture at 19 weeks pregnant, her family faced heartbreaking uncertainty.

Three weeks later, Sebastian was born at 22 weeks, weighing 1 pound, 2 ounces. Through every challenge, he was supported by expert, compassionate care from a dedicated team.

At HCA HealthONE Rocky Mountain Children’s, Sebastian received advanced neonatal care in our Level IV NICU, where our specialized small baby team cared for him around the clock. Led by Dr. Jennifer Zank, medical director of neonatal services, the team supported one of our tiniest and most fragile patients with the expertise and dedication this moment required.

Throughout their journey, our multidisciplinary team cared for both mom and baby, providing specialized maternal-fetal medicine and neonatal care designed to support the best possible outcomes for the entire family. for patients and families during life's most challenging moments. Four days after what was supposed to be a routine knee procedure, Kelly started feeling very sick. She was weak, short of breath, and knew something wasn't right.

Before anyone realized how serious her condition was, her cat, Gracie, began acting strangely and wouldn't leave her side. Looking back, Kelly's family believes Gracie knew something was wrong.

Kelly was rushed to HCA HealthONE Aurora, where doctors discovered life-threatening blood clots in both of her lungs. After suffering cardiac arrest, she received advanced lifesaving care that helped save her life.

Today, four years later, Kelly is back at work, enjoying life, and grateful for every day.

Every second counts during a cardiac arrest.

HCA HealthONE Aurora is working with local fire and EMS teams to help save more lives with a special treatment called ECPR. This advanced care can help patients when regular CPR is not enough.

Because of this teamwork, more patients are surviving and getting the chance to return home to their families. In fact, the program's survival rates are more than twice the international benchmark.

At HCA HealthONE Swedish, we believe in elevating care by elevating each other — and our patient care technicians (PCTs) bring that to life every day.

During PCT Week, we proudly celebrate our PCTs whose work makes a meaningful impact across HCA Healthcare — a network that supports approximately 47 million patient encounters each year.

PCTs are integral members of the care team, delivering hands-on care that directly supports patient outcomes. From assisting with mobility, personal care and meals to collaborating continuously with nurses and interdisciplinary teams, PCTs contribute essential clinical and compassionate care throughout the day. Their role reflects both technical skill and a commitment to teamwork, making them a foundational part of high-quality patient care.

To our PCTs, thank you for the care, comfort and support you bring to patients and colleagues alike.
