Big transformations rarely happen overnight.

They happen through tiny choices repeated over and over.
One class. One breath. One decision to come back to the next class.

✨ Teacher Highlight: Kathleen ✨

"My personal practice is always evolving.

Some days it's a full yoga practice. Other days it's five quiet minutes between clients. Sometimes it's simply pausing to meditate and reconnect with myself.

My practice is also learning to trust and appreciate the body I inhabit today.

Years ago, a friend took photos of me effortlessly flowing into Wheel Pose. Today, I'm working my way back to it, with grace instead of judgment.

My personal altar is a little messy, much like life itself. It's filled with scraps of paper, inspired paintings, encouraging notes, and sticky notes celebrating completed workouts. It's a reminder that growth isn't always polished.

With grace and grit, I hope to return to Wheel one day—that feeling of expansiveness, strength, and openness.

For now, you'll find me somewhere in the middle: a little messy, always curious. Heart Bench is where I am today... and Wheel? She's patiently waiting for me." 💜

🙈 The mudra I practiced after seeing all the typos in yesterday's post.

Here's the thing...

Yoga teachers aren't perfect either.

We get distracted.
We multitask.
We rush.
We try to do one more thing before moving on to the next.

And when we're not fully present, sometimes that looks like... a Facebook post full of typos. 😅 (Maybe we need readers, too 👓!)

The practice of yoga isn't about being perfect. It's about noticing when we've drifted, laughing at ourselves a little, and gently returning to the present moment.

So thank you for giving us grace. We promise we're better at teaching yoga than proofreading.

Why is Sangha one of our favorite monthly gatherings?

Because it's a chance to slow down, reflect, and connect with others who are also seeking a more intentional way of living.

This month's discussion, Open Heart, Clear Boundaries, explores how we can care deeply for others without carrying everything ourselves.

Join Suzanne for meditation, meaningful conversation, tea, and cookies.

Them: “Yoga is too hard. I’m not flexible and have terrible balance”

Us: Today’s class.💁🏻‍♀️

Yoga isn’t about touching your toes. It’s about meeting yourself where you are today.

Some days we move. Some days we strengthen. Some days we simply rest.

🌟 Teacher Spotlight: Kathleen

This week, we asked Kathleen what yoga means to her, what inspires her to teach, and what keeps her coming back to the mat. Here’s what she had to say…

💜Yoga has become a safe space for me and an important part of my healing journey. My mat always meets me exactly where I am, without judgment.

Once I released the fear of others watching my body, the shapes I hold, or seeing my imperfections and scars—both literal and figurative—it became my deepest desire to hold space for others through movement and breath.

I don’t know who benefits more, and perhaps it’s shared. As relaxed and regulated as my students become, I find myself leaving class with a gentle sigh, feeling a little lighter and a little less weighed down.

I teach for us—for me and for my students.

I’m willing to teach just about anywhere: open fields, studios, hospitals, addiction recovery centers…name the place, and I’m there.

I’ve only been teaching professionally for three years, yet at the same time, it feels like I’ve been doing it my entire life—all 48 years around the sun.

I’m especially inspired to teach helping professionals and people in recovery, creating spaces where they can find safety, connection, and healing.

Recently, a student said to me, “I have never felt safe enough to close my eyes, surrender deeply, and find my breath.”

Moments like that remind me exactly why I teach. 💙
