Breastfeeding provides:

Health care in the United States is increasingly team-based, and doulas—who often provide emotional, physical, and educational support for patients during birth, the postpartum period, and beyond—are valuable members of many care teams.

ACOG’s new clinical guidance encourages ob-gyn collaboration with doulas and gives ob-gyns the tools they need to better understand a doula’s role. It also highlights the importance of stronger partnerships between clinicians and doulas, which can provide vital support across the lifespan—including during and after pregnancy—and can lead to better patient outcomes.

Have you trained as a Postpartum Doula or Newborn Care Specialist and are finding yourself ready to dive in to working with famillies?

Most of the families we work with live in Erie, PA. Daytime shifts are 5 hours and overnight shifts are 8 hours. We have the greatest need for overnight support.

All available positions are contract based. We pour into our new doulas and mentor them along the way. You must be willing to make a 6 month commitment.

A friendly reminder: don’t be the person who starts texting a pregnant woman every single day asking if the baby is here yet.

I promise you, she is more aware of her due date than anyone else.

She’s already uncomfortable, exhausted, impatient, and wondering if she’ll be pregnant forever. The last thing she needs is 15 people checking in with, “Any baby?” every morning.

If you’re excited, that’s sweet. But let her enjoy those final days without feeling like she’s being monitored.

When the baby arrives, you’ll know.

Until then, let her rest, let her nest, and let her be the one to share the news when she’s ready. 🤍
