Thank you to the dedicated volunteers from Gannon University who participated in Gannon’s Day of Caring. Despite the cold rain on Saturday morning, they generously gave their time to help clean up our property. Their willingness to give back, even in less-than-ideal conditions, reflects the important role community partnerships play in supporting Sarah Reed and our residents.

This Earth Day, we are grateful for the beautiful grounds surrounding Sarah Reed Senior Living. This spring has been especially vibrant, with over 4,000 tulips blooming, bringing color and joy to our community.

We were fortunate last fall when the Sisters of St. Joseph Neighborhood Network reached out to us about a grant they received to support local organizations in planting tulips on their campuses. Once the bulbs arrived, Anthony Kruszewski, Forefront Maintenance Technician, and Brad Gowetski worked diligently to ensure they were planted before the snow fell.

Brad was able to volunteer for this project through Allegheny College’s generous commitment to giving back, which allows employees to dedicate up to 40 hours each year to volunteer with nonprofit organizations.

Thanks to the generosity of the Sisters of St. Joseph Neighborhood Network, the spirit of service fostered by Allegheny College, and the exceptional dedication of our partnered Forefront Maintenance Team, our grounds are more beautiful than ever.

Thank you to everyone who contributed. Because of all of you, our campus is bursting with color and joy!

We celebrated the Easter Holiday by hosting our annual "SRSL Easter Parade". We had an abundance of candy that the residents handed out to the children. Thank you to all who kindly donated to the "Hungry Bunnies"!! We had cookies, snacks, and pink lemonade for those who attended. We also had a small game, opportunities to take photographs, and an Easter Egg Hunt for prize-filled eggs! All of these things were made more festive by our very own visit from the 🐰Easter Bunny🐰!! We would like to give a special thank-you to our volunteer, Jeremy Desser. Everyone had so much fun!!

Last month, we held our second Annual SRSL Senior Prom!! The residents had so much fun reminiscing about their youth and recreating the PROM experience. We had wonderful refreshments, complete with a Chocolate Fountain! Additionally, we had a balloon arch and red carpet for photo opportunities. Of course, we also had the Jam Stars Band to help make the night a lively, unforgettable party!! The residents danced and smiled the night away. We even crowned a Prom King and Queen for each side of the building. Guests of the Prom donated canned goods for the Second Harvest Food Bank. We cannot wait to have next year's Prom!! Thank you to all who helped make this event extra special.

Our residents had a great time stepping up to the mic for our St. Patrick’s Day Event, sharing their poems and singing along with plenty of Irish Spirit!

We would like to congratulate Forefront employee Stephen Goodman, Director of Facilities Management at Sarah Reed Senior Living. Today, he was presented with the "Manager of the Year, Facility Management" award by Forefront! Keep up the great work, Steve! 🏆🎉
